This tournament, which was previously known as the ACC Emerging Asia Cup, is one of the major tournaments in the region, showcasing young talents from various countries.

India’s Historic Performance in the Tournament

The Emerging Asia Cup was first held in 2013, initially as an Under-23 tournament, and later evolving into a contest for ‘A’ teams. So far, six editions of the tournament have been played. Pakistan and Sri Lanka have each won the tournament twice, while India and Afghanistan have won it once each. Afghanistan is the defending champion, having defeated Sri Lanka in the 2024 final. India’s only victory came in a past edition, but the team is eager to showcase their strength in this edition.

Along with the regular ‘A’ teams of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and others, three associate teams—Hong Kong, Oman, and the UAE—will be fielding their main teams as well. This adds an exciting dynamic to the tournament, as these associate teams aim to prove themselves against the established cricketing powers.
