Published on

The Indian women’s cricket team, led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, achieved a historic victory in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. This win marked India’s first-ever ICC Women’s World Cup title, and the celebration continues across the country. On Wednesday, the champion team met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi, and a video of their interaction has surfaced on social media.

PM Modi Congratulates the Women’s Cricket Team

The Indian women’s cricket team, after their triumph in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, had the honor of meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the meeting, PM Modi congratulated the players on their remarkable achievement. He also asked several engaging questions to the players, reflecting his interest in their journey and performance. The videos from this meeting show PM Modi interacting with the players, making it an exciting moment for cricket fans.

PM Modi’s Questions to the Players

One of the most interesting moments came when PM Modi asked Deepti Sharma about the Hanuman tattoo on her hand. He inquired about how this tattoo helps her. Deepti responded by saying that she believes the tattoo helps her overcome challenges and difficulties.

Next, PM Modi turned to the captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, and asked about the ball she kept in her pocket after the final victory. Harmanpreet explained that by keeping the ball in her pocket, she felt it symbolized that the victory was hers, and it would remain with her. She further shared that the ball is still with her in her bag.

In a lighthearted moment, PM Modi also asked Shafali Verma about a specific catch and remarked, “Come on, catch the ball,” to which Shafali laughed and mentioned how the ball ended up in her hands, turning the moment into a fun interaction.

India’s Historic Win in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025

The Indian women’s cricket team, under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, made history by winning the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup. They triumphed over South Africa in the final on November 2, clinching their first-ever ICC Women’s World Cup title. This victory marked a significant milestone for Indian women’s cricket, as the team had previously reached the finals of the World Cup in 2005 and 2017 but fell short both times.

This year’s win was particularly sweet for the team, as it ended India’s long wait for an ICC Women’s World Cup title. Harmanpreet Kaur’s leadership and the team’s outstanding performance were key to securing the historic victory, making it an unforgettable moment for Indian cricket fans.

The Indian women’s cricket team’s victory in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 has been a historic achievement for the country. Their meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi further highlighted the significance of their win. With this win, the team has not only brought home the first-ever ICC Women’s World Cup but has also inspired millions across the nation. The lighthearted and inspiring interactions with PM Modi reflect the team’s camaraderie and the immense pride they have in their achievement.
