KKN Gurugram Desk | Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced his two-day official visit to Bihar with a packed schedule that included major infrastructure announcements, a public roadshow, and a surprise personal visit to the residence of the Deputy Chief Minister.
In a significant boost to Bihar’s civil aviation infrastructure, PM Modi inaugurated the new terminal building of Patna Airport on Friday morning. Alongside, he laid the foundation stone for the proposed Bihta Airport, a long-pending demand aimed at decongesting air traffic in the state capital.
PM Modi officially inaugurated the modern terminal at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport, Patna, which is designed to handle increased passenger volume and ease the pressure on the existing infrastructure. This project is a part of the central government’s broader plan to upgrade regional connectivity under the UDAN scheme.
The Bihta Airport, located approximately 30 km from Patna, is expected to become the new hub for civil aviation in Bihar. With this development, authorities aim to expand flight operations, accommodate larger aircraft, and reduce congestion in Patna.
After the airport engagements, Prime Minister Modi held a grand roadshow from Patna Airport to the BJP state headquarters. Supporters lined the streets, waving flags and chanting slogans in support of the Prime Minister. The atmosphere resembled a celebration, with the city decorated like a bride—lights, banners, and cutouts adorning every corner.
The roadshow concluded at the BJP’s Patna office, where PM Modi participated in a closed-door meeting with senior party leaders. The discussions are believed to have focused on the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections, campaign strategies, and the current political climate in the state.
In an unexpected yet warmly welcomed gesture, Prime Minister Modi made a personal stop at the official residence of Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha.
He attended the ring ceremony of Sinha’s son, Govind Bharadwaj, and daughter-in-law Shambhavi. The Prime Minister spent a few minutes blessing the couple and interacting with the family members.
Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha shared his emotions on the social media platform X, stating:
“Today has been a moment of immense pride and emotional joy for our family. On the occasion of our son Govind’s ring ceremony, we had the divine presence and blessings of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi at our government residence at 3 Strand Road, Patna. His affectionate blessings for Govind and Shambhavi will guide their new journey with values of service, tradition, and success.”
This visit added a deeply personal dimension to the PM’s otherwise formal itinerary, showcasing his strong rapport with state leaders.
PM Modi’s visit to Bihar is his first since “Operation Sindoor”, a national political campaign that has sparked widespread political discourse.
The streets of Patna were beautifully decorated, echoing themes from the Operation Sindoor narrative. Posters, slogans, and visuals aligned with the campaign were prominently displayed throughout the city, reflecting both public sentiment and political messaging.
Women and youth were particularly enthusiastic. Local residents, especially first-time voters, expressed excitement over PM Modi’s presence and the transformation projects being announced under his leadership.
This high-profile visit is being seen as a strategic move ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. With BJP aiming to consolidate its base in the state, Modi’s engagement—from major development projects to personal interactions—signals a deeper political mobilization.
Sources suggest that the visit is aimed at both showcasing governance achievements and rejuvenating grassroots party support across caste and community lines. His presence at both public and private events indicates a multi-layered approach to voter connection.
