Specific alerts for heavy rainfall have been issued for the Seemanchal region, including Araria, Kishanganj, and Purnia, raising concerns of possible waterlogging and disruption.

Weather Forecast Overview for May 30, 2025

According to IMD’s latest bulletin, weather conditions across Bihar will remain unsettled throughout Friday, with cloud cover, strong winds (30–40 km/h), and the possibility of lightning strikes in many parts of the state.

While northern Bihar and eastern districts may experience intense spells of rain, the central districts including Patna, Vaishali, and Bhojpur are expected to stay cloudy with intermittent gusts.

Heavy Rainfall Alert for Seemanchal Region

The Seemanchal belt, covering the northeastern districts of Bihar, is forecast to receive moderate to heavy rainfall, especially in:

  • Araria

These areas are prone to waterlogging, flash floods, and disruption in daily activities during heavy rainfall events. Local authorities have been put on alert for possible emergency responses.

Temperature Trends: Dip in Daytime Heat, Rise in Nighttime Humidity

On Thursday, most districts in Bihar recorded a drop in maximum temperature but experienced a slight rise in minimum temperature, indicating a shift toward humid and unstable weather. Temperature Highlights from Thursday (May 29, 2025)

What to Expect: Forecast Outlook for the Next 48 Hours

The IMD has predicted continued unstable weather conditions over the next 48 hours in many parts of Bihar. Scattered rain, thunder activity, and overcast skies are likely to persist, especially during evening and night hours.

 Expected Conditions:

  • Wind speeds between 30–40 km/h

  • Localized rainfall in central and northern districts

  • High humidity levels in urban centers like Patna, Bhagalpur, and Gaya

Public Advisory from Bihar Disaster Management Authority

In light of the weather warnings, the Bihar State Disaster Management Authority (BSDMA) has urged residents to remain indoors during peak lightning hours, especially from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Emergency helplines have been activated in all districts under alert.

Do’s and Don’ts:

  •  Stay away from open fields, trees, and water bodies during thunderstorms.

Local residents in Seemanchal have reported waterlogging in low-lying areas and have urged municipal authorities to ensure proper drainage.
