India Celebrates 76th Republic Day: Honoring 75 Years of the Constitution and National Pride

KKN Gurugram Desk | India marked its 76th  with grandeur and pride on January 26, 2025, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Constitution coming into effect. This year’s celebrations were especially momentous, highlighting the nation’s remarkable journey of progress and democratic values.

The Republic Day parade, held at ‘s Kartavya Path, began with President Droupadi Murmu taking the salute. The event was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who served as the Chief Guest for this ceremonial occasion, reflecting the strong diplomatic ties between India and Indonesia.

The Grand Parade on Kartavya Path

The parade commenced with the leadership of Parade Commander Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar, General Officer Commanding, Area. He was followed by Parade Second-in-Command and Chief of Staff, HQ Delhi Area, Major General Sumit Mehta, both of whom displayed impeccable coordination and military precision.

The event also paid tribute to the recipients of India’s highest gallantry awards, including the Param Vir Chakra and the Ashok Chakra. These bravehearts, who have displayed extraordinary courage and devotion to duty, were celebrated with resounding applause from the audience.

One of the standout moments of the parade was the participation of the Indonesian Military Academy’s band, which marched down Kartavya Path, symbolizing the growing cultural and defense cooperation between India and Indonesia. Their performance resonated with the audience, adding a unique element to the celebrations.

A Historic Milestone: 75 Years of India’s Constitution

This year’s Republic Day carried a deeper significance, marking 75 years of the Indian Constitution, which came into effect on January 26, 1950. As the cornerstone of India’s democracy, the Constitution has guided the country through decades of growth, diversity, and challenges.

In her address to the nation on the eve of Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu reflected on the journey of the Indian Republic.
