UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak Meets Saint Premanand Maharaj in Mathura

Published on

KKN Gurugram Desk | In a significant spiritual interaction, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, along with his wife Namrata Pathak, paid a visit to the renowned saint Premanand Maharaj at his ashram in Mathura. The meeting, which was more than just a courtesy call, turned into a profound spiritual discourse that carried lessons beyond politics and power.

Deputy CM Pathak bowed at the feet of the revered saint, seeking his blessings and guidance. The atmosphere at the ashram was calm, devotional, and deeply reflective, with the exchange between the political leader and the spiritual guide turning into a conversation about life’s true purpose.

“Life Is Not Just for Pleasure, But for Divine Realization” – Saint Premanand Maharaj

Addressing the Deputy CM, Saint Premanand Maharaj delved into the essence of human life, asserting that life is not merely for indulgence and material pleasures, but is meant for the realization of the Divine. According to him, seeking God is not limited to renunciation or retreating to forests.

He said:

“To attain God, one does not necessarily need to renounce worldly life or take sannyas. If a person performs their duties with honesty, dedication, and truthfulness while constantly remembering God, that too becomes a path to spiritual elevation.”

Karma and Remembrance of God Can Coexist: A Lesson from the Bhagavad Gita

Referencing the Bhagavad Gita, the saint quoted Lord Krishna’s famous line to Arjuna:
“Mām anusmara yudhya ca” – Fight while remembering Me.

This, he explained, emphasizes that engaging in worldly responsibilities does not prevent one from remembering and connecting with the Divine. Duties and devotion are not mutually exclusive; they are complementary.

He further added:

“A position of power, such as that held by a deputy chief minister, can also become a tool for spiritual growth, if used with the intent of public service and national welfare.”

A Message on Fearlessness and Selfless Duty

Continuing his teachings, Premanand Maharaj advised the Deputy CM to stay away from fear and temptation, which he described as the root causes of downfall in both spiritual and public life.

“If one acts under fear or greed, one strays from dharma. But if one performs one’s duties fearlessly and without selfish motives, success will come — both materially and spiritually.”

This message was not just spiritual but also directly applicable to political life, where the temptation of power and pressure of fear often lead to ethical compromises.

Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak Responds: “A Guiding Light for My Public Life”

Visibly moved by the saint’s words, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak expressed deep gratitude and admiration for the teachings. He acknowledged the importance of such wisdom in his role as a public servant, noting that:

“Saint Premanand Maharaj’s guidance has given me a new perspective on leadership. His words will serve as a guiding force in my journey of public service.”

He also expressed his commitment to incorporating these spiritual principles in governance, emphasizing welfare-driven administration and ethical decision-making.

Spiritual Influence on Politics: A Growing Trend in Indian Leadership

This meeting is part of a growing trend where Indian political leaders seek spiritual guidance to navigate the complexities of governance. In an environment often marred by divisiveness and power struggles, such spiritual interactions offer clarity, balance, and grounding.

Saints like Premanand Maharaj, rooted in the principles of Sanatan Dharma, provide not just religious instruction but ethical and philosophical frameworks that align with governance based on truth, service, and humility.

Why the Meeting Matters: Spirituality Meets Statecraft

The visit was not a photo-op. It represented a convergence of spiritual insight and political responsibility, highlighting how Indian tradition allows leaders to remain rooted in values even as they rise in power.

The key takeaways from the meeting include:

  • Spirituality is not restricted to renunciates; householders and leaders can also walk the path of devotion.

  • Power, when guided by wisdom, becomes a tool for service rather than control.

  • Ethical governance is possible when rooted in fearlessness, truth, and selfless duty.

Public Reactions: A Moment of Inspiration or Political Symbolism?

While many citizens and spiritual followers praised the Deputy CM’s visit as a sign of humility and openness, critics and observers also debated its political significance, especially in a state like Uttar Pradesh where religion and politics often intersect.

However, those close to the Deputy CM noted that Brajesh Pathak has always shown interest in spiritual wisdom, and this visit was more about personal evolution than political messaging.

The interaction between Saint Premanand Maharaj and Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak offers a powerful reminder that public life and spiritual life need not be at odds. In fact, when leaders ground themselves in timeless principles of truth, devotion, and service, the result can be a more just and compassionate society.

KKNLive will continue to follow such meaningful engagements that highlight the spiritual dimensions of leadership in modern India.
