KKN Gurugram Desk |  The UP Board Exam 2025 has officially commenced, with over 54.37 lakh students appearing for High School (Class 10) and Intermediate (Class 12) exams across 8,140 centers in Uttar Pradesh. However, due to the massive gathering of devotees at the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, the exams in this district will be held on March 9, 2025, instead of February 24.

To ensure a fair and transparent examination process, the UP Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has introduced new security measures, including strict monitoring, the use of OMR sheets, and advanced tracking of answer sheets.

UP Board’s New Security Measures to Prevent Paper Leaks and Cheating

The UP Board has directed all exam center administrators to implement additional security protocols to prevent answer sheet tampering and cheating incidents.

Key Directives for Exam Centers:

✔ Students must write their roll number and answer sheet serial number on every page of their answer copy in their handwriting.
✔ Each examination room will have invigilators assigned based on the number of students:

  • 1 invigilator for every 20 students
  • 2 invigilators for 40 students
  • 3 invigilators for 41–60 students
    ✔ All centers are under strict surveillance, with surprise inspections by zonal, sector, and static magistrates.
    ✔ STF, LIU, and local police have been assigned to monitor high-risk and sensitive exam centers.

UP Board Exam Rules: What Students Need to Know

To maintain strict discipline and prevent cheating, the UP Board has banned any form of charts, maps, or diagrams inside the exam halls.

📌 Morning Shift (8:00 AM – 11:15 AM):

  • High School: Hindi and Elementary Hindi
  • Intermediate: Military Science

📌 Afternoon Shift (2:00 PM – 5:15 PM):

  • Intermediate: Hindi and General Hindi
  • High School: Healthcare

To ensure smooth and peaceful examseducation department officials will be deployed as supervisors across all 75 districts. Meanwhile, commissioners, police officials, and district magistrates have been directed to conduct surprise inspections at exam centers.

UP Board Exam: Strict Action Against Bribery for Admit Cards

The UP Board’s media cell received complaints on social media regarding schools demanding illegal payments from students for issuing admit cards.

✔ UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh has clarified that no additional fee is required to appear for the exams or obtain an admit card.
✔ District Education Inspectors have been ordered to take strict legal action against schools found guilty of charging students.

High School OMR Sheet Pattern: New Format Introduced

The UP Board has revised the exam pattern for High School (Class 10) students, particularly for 70-mark question papers.

📝 Exam Paper Structure:

  • 20 marks – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) on OMR sheets.
  • 50 marks – Descriptive questions answered in traditional answer sheets.

This OMR-based system was introduced in 2023 and has been continued for the 2025 exams to improve evaluation transparency.

UP Board Exam Monitoring: Three-Phase System for OMR Sheets

To ensure answer sheet security, the OMR counterfoil system will be sent in three phases:

📅 Exam Counterfoil Submission Schedule:
✔ February 24 – March 3 exams: Submission by March 6
✔ March 4 – March 9 exams: Submission by March 12
✔ March 10 – March 12 exams: Submission by March 18

All answer sheets will be scanned and sent to regional offices for evaluation.

UP Board Allocates ₹55 Lakh for Exam Surveillance

To ensure strict monitoring₹55.29 lakh has been sanctioned for fuel and travel expenses for mobile surveillance teams deployed across the state.

Mobile teams will conduct surprise visits to high-risk exam centers to prevent paper leaks and cheating incidents.

UP Board Exam 2025: Bilingual Question Papers for Non-Hindi Medium Students

📌 Except for language subjects, all UP Board question papers will be available in both Hindi and English.
📌 Students registered for English-medium exams will receive bilingual question papers automatically.
📌 This system was introduced after a High Court order two years ago.
