SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2025 : State Wise Vacancy Details for 25,487 Posts

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the recruitment of 25,487 Constable General Duty (GD) and Rifleman posts in various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Special Security Force (SSF), and Assam Rifles. On Monday, SSC released the official state-wise vacancy details for these positions. Candidates can now check the number of vacancies available in each state and force, including the breakdown for both male and female candidates. Of the total vacancies, 23,467 positions are reserved for male candidates, while 2,020 positions are allocated for female candidates.

Vacancy Breakdown: CAPF, BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, and Assam Rifles

The largest share of vacancies is within the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), with 14,595 posts available. Of these, 13,135 positions are for men, and 1,460 are for women. Other major forces include the Border Security Force (BSF), with 616 positions, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), with 5,490 posts, and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), with 1,764 vacancies, all of which are for male candidates. The India-Tibet Border Police (ITBP) has 1,293 positions, with 1,099 for men and 194 for women, while Assam Rifles has 1,706 vacancies. Special Security Force (SSF) has 23 vacancies, all for male candidates.

SSC GD Constable 2025: Application Process and Deadlines

Applications for the 25,487 SSC GD Constable posts are now open. Interested candidates can apply online until December 31, 2025. The positions available include both Constable and Rifleman roles, with a mix of reserved and unreserved vacancies.

  • BSF: 616 positions (Male: 524, Female: 92)

  • CISF: 14,595 positions (Male: 13,135, Female: 1,460)

  • CRPF: 5,490 positions (Male: 5,366, Female: 124)

  • SSB: 1,764 positions (Male: 1,764, Female: 0)

  • ITBP: 1,293 positions (Male: 1,099, Female: 194)

  • Assam Rifles: 1,706 positions (Male: 1,556, Female: 150)

  • SSF: 23 positions (Male: 23, Female: 0)

Eligibility Criteria and Age Limits for SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2025

Candidates applying for the SSC GD Constable positions must have passed their 10th standard from a recognized board or institution. The age limit for applicants is between 18 to 23 years as of January 1, 2026. This means candidates should have been born between January 2, 2003, and January 1, 2008. However, age relaxation is provided for certain categories. OBC candidates, ex-servicemen, and SC/ST candidates are eligible for age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years, respectively.

Selection Process: Written Exam, Physical Tests, and Medical Examination

The selection for SSC GD Constable 2025 will be based on a multi-stage process. First, candidates will undergo a Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), and a Medical Examination.

The written exam will be based on a 160-mark CBT, consisting of 80 multiple-choice questions. These questions will cover General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi. Each correct answer will earn 2 marks, while each wrong answer will result in a deduction of 0.25 marks. The time allotted for the exam will be 60 minutes.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standards

For the Physical Efficiency Test, male candidates will have to complete a 5-kilometer run in 24 minutes, while female candidates will have to complete a 1.6-kilometer run in 8.5 minutes. Candidates from Ladakh will have special provisions, where they will have to complete the 1.6-kilometer run in just 7 minutes for male candidates and 800 meters in 5 minutes for female candidates.

For the Physical Standard Test (PST), male candidates must have a minimum height of 170 cm, while female candidates need to have a height of 157 cm. The chest measurement for male candidates is 80 cm, with a 5 cm expansion required, and for ST category candidates, it is 76 cm. There are specific height and chest requirements for ST candidates as well.

Application Fees and Payment Methods

The application fee for the SSC GD Constable 2025 exam is Rs. 100. However, there is no fee for SC/ST candidates, women, and ex-servicemen. Candidates can pay the fee online using a debit/credit card or through net banking.

How to Apply for SSC GD Constable 2025

To apply for the SSC GD Constable positions, candidates need to visit the official SSC website (https://ssc.gov.in). On the homepage, under the Notice Board section, multiple notifications related to recruitment will be displayed. Candidates should click on the “Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2026” notification. A PDF of the advertisement will open, which candidates must read thoroughly to ensure eligibility.

Once the eligibility check is complete, candidates should go back to the previous page and click on the “Apply” link under the “Constable (Executive) Male and Female in Delhi Police Examination, 2025” section. They will need to register first by clicking the “New User? Register Now” link. This will open the One-Time Registration page. After filling in the necessary details like Aadhaar number, personal information, and contact details, candidates will be directed to the next stages, where they will create a password, fill in their address and educational qualifications, and submit the declaration.

After completing the registration, candidates need to log in using their registration number and password. The application form will then open, where they must provide the required information, upload a passport-size photograph, signature, and documents in the prescribed format. The application fee should be paid as per the instructions, and once completed, the form should be submitted. Candidates are advised to keep a printout of the application form for future reference.

Exam Syllabus for SSC GD Constable 2025

The SSC GD Constable 2025 exam will test candidates in several areas:

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: This section will test the ability to understand relationships, codes, number series, visual memory, and logical reasoning.

  • General Knowledge and Awareness: Questions will cover Indian history, culture, geography, current affairs, general science, and environmental issues.

  • Elementary Mathematics: Topics include number systems, percentage, average, profit and loss, time and distance, algebra, and trigonometry.

  • General Hindi/English: This section will test the candidates’ vocabulary, grammar, sentence correction, reading comprehension, and verbal reasoning.

The SSC GD Constable 2025 recruitment is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to join the Central Armed Police Forces, SSF, or Assam Rifles. With over 25,000 vacancies, the recruitment process promises to be competitive.
