BSSC CGL 4 & Office Attendant Recruitment 2025 : Major Increase in Vacancies

The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has announced a significant increase in the number of vacancies for the BSSC CGL-4 recruitment and Office Attendant recruitment for 2025. Initially, 1541 vacancies were available for the BSSC CGL-4 posts, but this number has now been increased to 1883. The number of vacancies for the Assistant Branch Officer (ASO) post has been raised from 1064 to 1406, which means an increase of 342 positions.

Additionally, the Office Attendant recruitment for 2025 has seen a significant rise as well. The number of vacancies for this role has increased from 4388 to 5131. The commission has received requests for 726 additional posts from nine other departments. After adding these new vacancies and revising other positions, the total number of vacancies for the Office Attendant recruitment is now 5131.

For both the BSSC CGL-4 and Office Attendant recruitment, the application deadline was initially set for November 21, 2025, but the final submission date has been extended to November 24, 2025.

Increase in Vacancies for BSSC CGL-4 and Office Attendant Roles

A few days ago, BSSC had already announced an increase of 60 vacancies in the CGL-4 recruitment and 661 additional vacancies in the Office Attendant recruitment. Initially, the BSSC CGL-4 recruitment had 1481 vacancies, while the Office Attendant recruitment had 3727 vacancies listed. With the latest update, the total number of vacancies for both roles has now risen significantly.

Third Recruitment Update: Stenographer Vacancies Increased

In addition to the previously mentioned recruitments, the stenographer vacancies have also been increased. The total number of vacancies for stenographers has now been raised from 432 to 531. This marks the third major recruitment with increased vacancies under the BSSC recruitment process.

BSSC CGL-4 Application Form Corrections

BSSC has opened an edit window for applicants to make corrections in their application forms. The commission has acknowledged several requests from candidates and issued a notice stating that applicants can make corrections in their forms for 12 specific points. The deadline to make corrections in the application forms is November 24, 2025.

Benefits for Contractual Employees

For candidates with previous contractual experience, a new provision has been introduced. They will now receive up to 25 additional points in recognition of their past service. For each year of satisfactory service, candidates will be awarded a maximum of five points per year. The total score for previous contractual work can be adjusted proportionally based on the length of the service and the number of working days per year.

BSSC CGL-4 Recruitment Process: Preliminary and Main Exams

The recruitment process for BSSC CGL-4 will consist of two stages: the preliminary exam and the main exam. Candidates who successfully clear the preliminary exam will be called for the main exam. This two-tier exam process is designed to assess the candidates’ knowledge and skills for various administrative posts.

BSSC CGL-4 Vacancies and Qualifications

The vacancies for the BSSC CGL-4 and other recruitment categories are as follows:

  • Assistant Branch Officer (ASO): 1406 positions

  • Yojana Assistant: 88 positions

  • Junior Statistical Assistant: 5 positions

  • Data Entry Operator Grade C: 1 position

  • Auditor: 125 positions

  • Assistant Committees Auditor: 198 positions

  • Industry Extension Officer (Pay Level 7): 60 positions

Candidates applying for these posts should meet the eligibility requirements set by the commission, which typically include educational qualifications like graduation and relevant experience.

Age Limit for BSSC CGL-4 and Office Attendant Recruitment

For candidates applying to the BSSC CGL-4 and Office Attendant roles, the minimum age limit is set at 21 years, and the maximum age limit is 37 years. The age calculation will be based on August 1, 2025. Reserved category candidates will receive relaxation in the maximum age limit as per government rules.

BSSC Sports Trainer Recruitment Extended

In addition to the CGL-4 and Office Attendant recruitment, BSSC has also extended the application deadline for the Sports Trainer positions. The registration and fee submission deadline has been extended from November 21 to December 11, 2025. The final submission date for applications has been extended from November 24 to December 14, 2025.

Candidates applying for the Sports Trainer posts must meet specific educational qualifications. They should have a graduation degree from a recognized university, along with a diploma in sports coaching or a postgraduate diploma in sports coaching (PGDSC) or equivalent qualification. Furthermore, candidates who have represented India in international competitions or their state in national or international championships are eligible to apply.

BSSC CGL-4 and Office Attendant Recruitment: Educational Requirements

The educational qualifications required for BSSC CGL-4 and Office Attendant recruitment typically include a degree from a recognized university. Candidates applying for the Assistant Branch Officer or other administrative roles should also have relevant qualifications based on the specific job profile.

For Sports Trainer recruitment, candidates need a graduation degree along with a diploma in sports coaching or a postgraduate diploma in sports coaching. Those with experience in national or international sports representation have an edge in the selection process.

The BSSC CGL-4 and Office Attendant recruitment for 2025 has seen a major increase in vacancies, offering more opportunities for job seekers in Bihar. With the extension of deadlines and the introduction of new provisions for contract workers, this recruitment is expected to attract a large number of candidates. Candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria and submit their applications before the final date.
