IAF Agniveer Vayu Recruitment 2025: Last Date to Apply Today

Published on

The Indian Air Force is conducting the Agniveervayu Recruitment 2025 under the Agnipath scheme. The last date to apply online is today, July 31. Candidates from both science and non-science backgrounds are eligible for this opportunity. As per the official information, the registration must be completed through the official website: agnipathvayu.cdac.in. The recruitment drive is open to candidates who have completed 12th, possess an engineering diploma, or have vocational qualifications. This is a major opportunity for youth seeking a career in defence under the Agniveer scheme.

Indian Airforce Agniveer Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

The Agniveervayu recruitment offers opportunities to students from science and non-science streams. The eligibility is divided into two categories to accommodate applicants with diverse educational backgrounds. The minimum academic requirement includes passing Class 12 from a recognized board with specific subject combinations and marks.

Candidates from the science stream must have completed their 12th standard with Physics, Mathematics, and English. They must score a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and at least 50% in English. This requirement ensures that applicants have a strong foundational knowledge in subjects relevant to technical roles in the Air Force.

Alternatively, candidates with a three-year engineering diploma in streams like Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology, or Information Technology are also eligible. They should have scored at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English. This pathway allows diploma holders to participate even if they haven’t completed 12th with science subjects.

Non-science stream students are also eligible, making this recruitment inclusive. Candidates who have completed 12th with any stream but have scored at least 50% overall and 50% in English can apply. This has opened the doors for Arts students as well, making it one of the few defence opportunities where candidates with humanities backgrounds can compete.

Moreover, applicants with a two-year vocational course qualification can also apply, provided they have scored 50% overall and 50% in English. The vocational background adds a layer of flexibility, supporting candidates from various educational and training systems.

Age Limit and Birth Date Criteria

To apply for the Indian Air Force Agniveer Vayu Recruitment 2025, candidates must be between the ages of 17.5 and 21 years. Only those born between July 2, 2005, and January 2, 2009, are eligible. The age limits are strictly followed to ensure that only youth fitting the Agniveer scheme’s criteria participate.

This defined age bracket is designed to encourage early career engagement in defence services and to align with the structure of short-term service under the Agnipath scheme. Candidates outside this age range are not eligible to register.

Application Process and Fee Details

The application process is completely online and must be completed by July 31 through the official website. A non-refundable application fee of ₹550 is applicable for all candidates, which must be paid via online mode during registration. No offline applications are accepted under any circumstances.

The online form is structured to ensure easy access and includes sections for personal information, educational qualification, document upload, and payment. Candidates are advised to check the official notification and prepare their documents in the required format to avoid last-minute issues.

Selection Procedure for Agniveer Vayu Recruitment

The selection process for Indian Air Force Agniveer includes multiple stages. It begins with a written examination followed by physical fitness tests, document verification, and a final medical examination. The written test will evaluate the candidate’s aptitude and subject knowledge. It is expected to be competitive and will include objective-type questions relevant to the applicant’s educational stream.

Physical fitness holds significant importance in the selection process. Male candidates must complete a 1.6 km run within 7 minutes, while female candidates must do the same within 8 minutes. In addition to the running test, candidates will be evaluated on exercises like push-ups, sit-ups, and squats. These tests are designed to assess the physical preparedness necessary for service in the Indian Air Force.

Candidates who pass the physical test will undergo document verification where their educational records and personal information will be scrutinized. The final step is the medical test, which ensures that selected candidates meet the health standards required for military service.

Key Features of the Agniveer Vayu Service

The Indian Air Force has laid out several benefits and service conditions under the Agniveer Vayu scheme. During the four-year term, Agniveers will be covered under a medical insurance scheme worth ₹48 lakh. This insurance policy covers injuries, hospitalization, and other medical needs arising during service.

However, Agniveers are not entitled to pension benefits or gratuity as it is a short-term service model. Still, they will have access to Indian Air Force hospitals and CSD (Canteen Stores Department) facilities, which are otherwise reserved for regular armed forces personnel. These benefits provide health security and access to subsidized goods and services.

The Agniveers will be granted 30 annual leaves during their service, along with additional sick leaves granted based on medical recommendations. These leave provisions aim to maintain a work-life balance during the four-year service term.

Another notable feature of the Agniveer scheme is its emphasis on discipline, training, and professional growth. Although the service period is limited, the experience and skills gained will prepare Agniveers for future career paths in both government and private sectors.

Inclusivity in Agniveer Vayu 2025

One of the standout elements of the 2025 Agniveer Vayu recruitment is its inclusive approach. Unlike earlier recruitment drives where defence roles were heavily restricted to science stream students, this initiative welcomes non-science applicants. Arts and vocational course students now have a clear entry point into a prestigious military role.

The decision to open the recruitment to broader academic streams reflects a shift in the Indian Air Force’s strategy. It signals a move towards diverse talent acquisition, where potential is not restricted by academic stream alone. This inclusiveness is also expected to encourage more youth from rural and semi-urban areas to explore defence services as a career.

With proper training and exposure, these candidates will be equipped to perform at par with traditional recruits. The recruitment process has been tailored to ensure that only deserving and capable individuals move forward, regardless of academic background.

Today, July 31, marks the final day for registration for the Indian Air Force Agniveer Vayu recruitment 2025. Interested candidates must complete the online process before the portal closes. With eligibility open to a wide range of students, including those from Arts and vocational backgrounds, the opportunity is unprecedented.

The Agnipath scheme continues to redefine military recruitment in India by creating a short-term, skill-focused, and youth-driven model. The benefits, structure, and disciplined lifestyle offered through the Agniveer Vayu program can shape a meaningful path for thousands of Indian youth.

Candidates are urged not to delay and to ensure all details are correctly entered while applying. A single mistake in the form can result in disqualification. Proper preparation, awareness of the selection process, and timely submission are the keys to success in this competitive recruitment.

This is not just a job—it is a chance to serve the nation, gain structured experience, and build a strong foundation for the future. Whether from science, arts, or vocational streams, the Air Force is offering a career path full of dignity, pride, and purpose.
