KKN Gurugram Desk | In a harrowing incident that has shocked Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, a man was abducted and brutally murdered just one day before his wedding. The groom-to-be, identified as Nihal, was reportedly lured from his home under false pretenses and killed. Shockingly, the bride-to-be and her alleged lover stand accused.

Incident Overview: Abduction and Murder Ahead of Wedding

  • VictimNihal, 35, resident of Faqiron Wala Gat, Guzar Tola (Ganj police station), Rampur, UP.

  • Wedding planned with: Unnamed woman from Dhunupura, Bhot village, Ganj area.

  • Date of abduction: June 14, 2025, midday.

According to police and the victim’s family, Nihal received a phone call from two men posing as his cousin-in-law and offering to get him fitted for new wedding clothes. Trusting them, he stepped out of his home and was kidnapped by the duo on their motorcycle. His disheveled body was later discovered in the Ajimnagar forest — strangled and abandoned.

Bride and Her Lover Under Suspicion

Family members have named both the bride-to-be and an alleged lover as key suspects. They filed a formal complaint naming two individuals directly involved — the bride’s companion and another man — accusing them of orchestrating the kidnapping and murder.

Based on the complaint, police detained one suspect who helped them locate Nihal’s body in the forest. His arrest marked a critical breakthrough in the investigation, which continues to focus on unearthing motives and identifying other perpetrators.

Murder Location: Ganj Police Station Limits

Nihal, son of Musharrat Ali, was preparing to marry a woman from Dhunupura village, falling under Ganj police precincts. The gruesome crime has rattled local communities due to its timing — just a day before the planned wedding, leaving relatives to question the betrayal behind the act.

 How the Victim Was Lured

Family testimony reveals that Nihal received a bogus call during wedding ceremonies in the afternoon. The caller posing as his future cousin-in-law convinced him to leave the house for a “clothing fitting.” Two men on a motorcycle then approached, forcibly abducted him, and later strangled him in the nearby forest. His absence triggered an immediate missing person report.

Police Response: Arrest and Body Recovery

The police registered a missing person complaint and quickly launched an investigation. Detectives zeroed in on one suspect, whose interrogations led to the tragic discovery of Nihal’s body in Ajimnagar forest. The victim’s remains were sent to the morgue for post-mortem examination, while the paper trail begins to implicate the bride-to-be and her partner in the crime.

CO City Jitendra Singh assured:

“We have one accused in custody, identified the burial site, and are rigorously pursuing other conspirators. Expect comprehensive investigation results soon.”

 Legal and Criminal Ramifications

This case highlights serious legal implications:

  • Charges: Alleged kidnapping, murder, criminal conspiracy (Sections 364, 302, 120B, IPC).

  • Status: 1 arrest made; investigation ongoing to apprehend remaining conspirators.

  • Forensics: Post-mortem reports and digital evidence expected to play a crucial role in proving motive and execution.

If convicted, the accused could face severe penalties, including life imprisonment or capital punishment.

 Community Shock and Wider Impact

The crime has deeply unsettled Rampur. A violent murder disrupting a family celebration has raised concerns about trust, vigilante justice, and the misuse of relationships.

Many locals have criticized the police for not preventing the crime but acknowledge their swift arrest and investigation efforts. Religious and civic groups now demand justice and stronger legal action against those who weaponize marriages for hidden motives.

 Why This Case Matters

  1. Trust Betrayal: The use of wedding pretense for murder—a sovereign persecution.

  2. Easier Impersonation: Use of false identities exposes gaps in verifying claims during urgent situations.

  3. Involvement of Bride: Raises questions about intimate partner and familial betrayal in crimes.

  4. Urgency for Security: Need for improved police presence and rapid response during wedding events.

What Happens Next?

  • Further arrests of the bride’s accomplices are expected.

  • Post-mortem findings will clarify manner and cause of death.

  • Digital forensics (phone records, messages) will provide insight into conspiracy planning.

  • Legal proceedings: Initial remand hearing and FIR update to be filed based on new evidence.

In a chilling and premeditated crime, Nihal was abducted and killed just one day before his wedding in Rampur, UP. Impersonated crisis by the bride’s family preluding the attack has shaken trust in traditional relations. One suspect has been arrested after helping police recover the body, and the hunt for others is ongoing. Legal action will pivot on forensic and digital evidence. This tragic case underscores the vulnerability of relationships and the vital need for security measures during personal celebrations.
