According to reports, Cocktail 2 is expected to release between August and October 2026, although the makers have not yet made any official announcement regarding the final release date. The film has already completed a portion of its shooting schedule, and production is currently underway. Since the announcement of the sequel, the project has generated strong excitement among fans of the original film as well as followers of the new cast. The makers are reportedly aiming for a third-quarter release window next year, which often works well for relationship-driven Bollywood films. Third-Quarter Release Window Being Targeted Industry tracking reports suggest that Cocktail 2 may arrive in cinemas during the third quarter of 2026. This places the tentative release window between August and October. Shooting is progressing at a steady pace, with Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon actively involved in the ongoing schedules. While the release date remains unconfirmed, the film is expected to wrap up production well in time for a late-2026 theatrical release. The lack of an official release announcement has not reduced audience interest. On the contrary, curiosity around the film continues to grow, especially due to the fresh casting and the return of the original creative team. Maddock Films Producing the Sequel Cocktail 2 is being produced by Maddock Films, a production house known for delivering commercially successful and content-driven films. The script of the sequel has been written by Luv Ranjan, who is widely recognized for his work on relationship-based films such as Pyaar Ka Punchnama. His involvement has raised expectations regarding the film’s narrative depth and modern take on relationships. The film is being directed by Homi Adajania, who also directed the original Cocktail. His return as director ensures creative continuity and familiarity with the tone of the franchise. Adajania’s filmmaking style is known for blending emotional storytelling with urban sensibilities, which aligns well with the Cocktail brand. Cocktail 2 Carries Forward a Successful Franchise Cocktail 2 follows the success of Cocktail, released in 2012 and starring Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan and Diana Penty. The original film explored complex themes of friendship, love, and emotional choices, striking a chord with young urban audiences.
