He left behind his palace, luxuries, and family at the age of 29 to seek the truth of life and liberation from suffering. After years of extreme austerity and meditation, he finally attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree in Bodh Gaya on the night of Vaishakh Purnima. Later in life, on this same date, Gautam Buddha entered Mahaparinirvana, marking his departure from the cycle of rebirth. Thus, this single day signifies birth, awakening, and liberation — the complete spiritual journey of Buddha.
