BPSC 71st Notification 2025 Released: 1250 Vacancies Announced, Applications Start from June 2

KKN Gurugram Desk | The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially released the notification for the 71st Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2025. The recruitment will fill 1,250 posts across various departments of the Bihar state government.

The online application process will begin on June 2, 2025, and the last date to apply is June 30, 2025. The preliminary exam is tentatively scheduled for August 30, 2025.

 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (As on August 1, 2025):

  • Minimum Age: 20 years for all categories

  • Maximum Age:

    • General (Unreserved): 37 years

    • BC and EBC: 40 years

    • SC/ST (Male & Female): 42 years

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university in any discipline.

How to Apply Online for BPSC 71st Exam 2025

Eligible candidates can follow these steps to apply:

  1. Visit the official BPSC website:

  2. Click on “Apply Online for 71st CCE” on the homepage.

  3. Complete the registration process with valid details.

  4. Fill in the application form and upload required documents.

  5. Pay the application fee through online mode.

  6. Submit the form and download a copy for future reference.

 BPSC 71st Selection Process 2025

The recruitment process involves three stages:

1. Preliminary Examination

  • Type: Objective (MCQ)

  • Total Questions: 150

  • Duration: 2 hours

  • Subjects: General Studies (Only one paper)

  • Qualifying Nature: Marks will not be counted in final merit but are required to qualify for Mains.

2. Main Examination

  • Total Papers: Three

    • General Hindi (Qualifying)

    • General Studies Paper I

    • General Studies Paper II

    • One Optional Subject (chosen by the candidate)

  • Marks: Each paper is 300 marks

  • Duration per Paper: 3 hours

  • Note: Hindi is qualifying (Minimum 30% required); other papers count in merit.

3. Interview

  • Total Marks: 120

  • Candidates who clear Mains are called for the personality test/interview.

  • Final merit list is prepared based on performance in Mains and Interview.

 Optional Subjects for Mains Exam (As per previous pattern)

Candidates can choose from subjects like:

  • Public Administration

  • Geography

  • History

  • Political Science

  • Sociology

  • Economics

  • Anthropology

  • Law

  • Psychology

  • Management, etc.

Note: Optional subjects must be selected based on academic background and interest, as they carry substantial weight in final selection.

  2. Refer to Bihar-specific current affairs and schemes

  3. Practice previous years’ BPSC question papers
