In a viral video that has taken social media by storm, Anam Mirza, the sister of renowned tennis star Sania Mirza, shared her decision to stop using UPI apps and urged others to do the same. Anam, who is known for her active social media presence, explained how stepping away from digital payment apps like Google Pay has helped her manage her expenses better. This move has sparked a conversation about digital payments, spending habits, and financial control in today’s increasingly cashless society.

Anam Mirza’s Decision to Stop Using UPI Apps

In a recent video shared on her Instagram, Anam Mirza revealed that she has completely stopped using UPI apps this year. She made it clear that she no longer uses Google Pay, UPI, or any immediate payment methods that make transactions easier and faster. She even went so far as to remove her UPI apps from her phone and leave her UPI account empty to ensure she doesn’t engage in spontaneous transactions.

Anam explained in her video, “This year, I decided to stop using Google Pay. No UPI, no instant payments. I emptied my UPI account, removed all my UPI apps, and there’s no balance, nothing to scan.”

How Stopping UPI Has Helped Anam Control Her Spending

Anam went on to describe how this shift helped her control unnecessary spending. Initially, she admitted to facing some difficulties. “In the beginning, I faced some challenges, like going to cafes without a card or cash. I would have to ask my friends to buy me a coffee. Honestly, we all forgot what it was like to carry a purse.”

However, over time, Anam realized that she was no longer indulging in impulsive purchases. “As time went by, I realized I was no longer spending recklessly. Paying with cash and cards felt like an actual expense. UPI made it too easy. With small changes, I started noticing where and how much I was spending,” she added.

She concluded by saying, “Living a ‘no UPI life’ means more control, less guilt. Small changes, big impact.”

Anam’s Journey to Financial Control

Anam’s decision to stop using UPI apps stems from her desire to manage her finances more consciously. In her video, she encouraged others to reflect on their spending habits and explore ways to regain control over their finances. By opting for physical payments, Anam claims that it helped her realize the true cost of her purchases and made her more mindful of her money.

In today’s digital world, UPI has become a highly convenient tool for daily transactions, making it almost effortless to spend money without thinking much about it. Anam’s approach, however, demonstrates the value of slowing down and being more intentional with one’s financial choices. For many, this might be a wake-up call to reassess their reliance on digital payment systems and their impact on personal budgeting.

Anam Mirza’s Entrepreneurial Journey

While Sania Mirza has made a name for herself as a successful tennis player, Anam Mirza has carved her niche in the world of entrepreneurship. She is the founder of her own fashion brand, Label Bazar, which has gained considerable attention in the fashion industry.

Anam’s entrepreneurial spirit is evident in her determination to manage her business and personal finances effectively. She has always been passionate about fashion, and her brand reflects her unique sense of style and creativity. Her move to stop using UPI apps aligns with her broader philosophy of taking control over various aspects of her life, including her finances.

Personal Life and Challenges

Anam Mirza’s personal life has also attracted attention over the years. She married Akbar Rashid in 2016, but the marriage ended in 2018. Following the separation, Anam found love again and married Mohammad Asaduddin, the son of Indian cricket legend Mohammad Azharuddin. The couple now has a daughter, Dua, who is the light of their lives.

Despite the challenges in her personal life, Anam has remained focused on her career and personal growth. Her decision to step back from digital payment apps is an example of how she continues to make mindful decisions to improve her life, both personally and professionally.

Anam’s Call for Others to Reassess Digital Spending

Anam’s video and the message behind it resonate with many who have become accustomed to the ease of digital payments through platforms like Google Pay, PhonePe, and Paytm. The convenience of UPI apps often leads to impulse buying and overspending, as the physical act of handing over money or swiping a card is replaced by a simple tap or scan on a phone.

Anam’s decision serves as a reminder that while digital payment systems are beneficial in many ways, they can also lead to uncontrolled spending if not used wisely. Her call to become more mindful of spending through conscious choices encourages many to reflect on their financial habits and find ways to save money. The idea of using cash or cards rather than relying solely on UPI can be an effective way to regain control over spending, especially for those who struggle with overspending due to the ease of digital transactions.

The Impact of Anam Mirza’s Advice

The viral video featuring Anam Mirza has sparked important conversations about digital payments, financial habits, and the psychology of spending. It serves as a reminder that in an age where convenience is prioritized, it’s essential to maintain a balance and stay aware of how our financial tools shape our behavior. By encouraging people to slow down and be more mindful of their finances, Anam has initiated a larger discussion about the importance of financial literacy and self-awareness in managing one’s money.

Anam Mirza’s bold decision to stop using UPI apps serves as an eye-opener for many who have unknowingly allowed digital payments to drive their spending habits. While UPI apps offer immense convenience, they can sometimes make it too easy to spend without considering the consequences. Anam’s advice to be more conscious about money management, especially in a world where instant payments are the norm, is a valuable lesson in financial control and mindful spending.

Her approach encourages individuals to take a step back and rethink their relationship with money, which is particularly important in today’s cashless society. By opting for traditional payment methods like cash or card payments, individuals can develop a more mindful approach to spending and budgeting. As Anam Mirza wisely points out, small changes can have a big impact when it comes to financial well-being.
