On November 25, 2025, a historic moment took place in Ayodhya as Prime Minister Narendra Modi pressed a button to hoist the Dharma Flag at the peak of the Ram Mandir. This event marked a significant milestone in the journey of the Ram Mandir, which has been under construction for several years. With this flag hoisting, the temple is now one step closer to completion. The occasion was attended by several prominent figures, including RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, religious leaders, and devotees, all of whom were deeply moved by the emotional and spiritual significance of the moment.

A Symbol of Faith and Devotion

As the 2-kilogram saffron flag was raised atop the temple’s 161-foot-tall spire, it symbolized the culmination of centuries of anticipation and devotion. The entire atmosphere in Ayodhya resonated with feelings of reverence and gratitude. Prime Minister Modi, in his speech, stated, “Today, the wounds of centuries have been healed.” He also expressed that the day marks a new chapter in the history of India’s spiritual journey. RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing that the devotion of millions of people had finally been realized. He also noted that the Dharma Flag on the temple’s peak would serve as a symbol of the eternal strength of Sanatan Dharma.

Ram Mandir’s Journey: A Timeline of Key Dates

The flag hoisting ceremony on November 25, 2025, has become another monumental date in the history of the Ram Mandir. It joins other historic dates such as November 9, 2019, when the Supreme Court ruling cleared the way for the temple’s construction, August 5, 2020, when the foundation stone was laid, and January 22, 2024, when the temple’s consecration took place. This event has forever engraved November 25 in the golden history of Sanatan Dharma. The hoisting of the Dharma Flag represents not only the completion of the temple’s construction but also the revival of spiritual strength and cultural pride for millions of Hindus worldwide.

Prime Minister Modi’s Address: A Message of Unity and Strength

During his address at the event, Prime Minister Modi stated that the entire world had become Ram-imbued today. He referred to Lord Ram as the embodiment of humility and strength, and emphasized the importance of staying connected to one’s roots. Modi further highlighted the need to break free from the colonial mindset and take pride in India’s heritage. He added that over the next decade, India must overcome the remnants of colonial influence and reclaim its true identity.

Prime Minister Modi also honored the artisans, architects, and workers who have contributed to the temple’s construction. He acknowledged their dedication and the efforts that have gone into creating this magnificent structure. The contributions of figures like Shabari, Kevat, and Nishad Raj were also mentioned, symbolizing the inclusive nature of the temple’s creation. Modi emphasized that the development of the temple is not just a physical achievement but also a celebration of the participation of every section of society, including women, Dalits, tribals, and the youth.

Mohan Bhagwat’s Address: A Triumph of Faith

RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, in his speech, described the day as the realization of the faith of millions. He referred to the hoisting of the Dharma Flag as a fulfillment of centuries of struggle, a struggle that took five centuries to bring to fruition. Bhagwat expressed that the temple, now complete, was even more beautiful than originally envisioned. His words resonated deeply with the gathered crowd, reinforcing the importance of the temple as not only a religious symbol but also a testament to the resilience and determination of the people of India.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s Address: A Vision for the Future

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also addressed the gathering, calling the event a historic moment that fulfilled the long-standing aspirations of the people. He stated that the completion of the Ram Mandir marks a new era for the country, with India now poised to reach new heights. He praised the temple as a symbol of faith for millions and an embodiment of the spirit of unity.

The Flag Hoisting Ceremony: A Moment of Spiritual Glory

Before the flag hoisting, Prime Minister Modi, along with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel, performed a traditional puja at the Annapurna Temple. The flag, a massive 22 feet long and 11 feet wide, was raised atop the temple’s spire, which is adorned in the traditional North Indian Nagara architectural style. The spire, along with the 800-meter-long boundary wall designed in the South Indian architectural style, reflects the architectural diversity of the temple.

At 11:58 AM, during the auspicious muhurat, the flag was hoisted, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the spiritual and cultural life of India. The ceremony was accompanied by a grand Mangal-Swasti Gaan, which was coordinated by the cultural experts of Ayodhya. This music ensemble included the chanting of bhajans, stotras, and selected verses from the Ramcharitmanas, performed by renowned artists. The performance added a divine and cultural aura to the entire event.

A Grand Welcome for Prime Minister Modi

Ahead of the flag hoisting, Prime Minister Modi participated in a roadshow that was greeted by crowds chanting “Jai Shri Ram.” The streets of Ayodhya were filled with people eager to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister. The roadshow passed through various locations, with cultural performances and local dances taking place along the route, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the city.

The Ram Mandir’s flag hoisting ceremony on November 25, 2025, has been a powerful reminder of India’s spiritual roots and cultural unity. It marks not only the completion of a long-awaited temple but also the triumph of faith, dedication, and perseverance. The event was a celebration of India’s rich history and its return to its spiritual foundations. With the Dharma Flag now flying high on the Ram Mandir, the people of India have witnessed the realization of a dream that has been centuries in the making.
