Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Visit Bihar on May 29-30: A Historic Tour with Inauguration of 50,000 Crore Development Projects

KKN Gurugram Desk | On May 29, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Bihar, which is set to be a historic occasion for the state. The visit is seen as a key moment in the ongoing efforts to boost the state’s infrastructure and economic development. The government and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have pulled out all stops to ensure that the visit is memorable, both politically and historically.

During this visit, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several major projects in various sectors including transportation, infrastructure, and energy. A grand roadshow will also be held in Patna, which is expected to draw massive crowds, including a unique cultural display where women will perform ‘Aarti’ and shower flowers on the Prime Minister.

PM Modi’s Grand Roadshow in Patna: Celebrating the People’s Connection

The roadshow will cover significant parts of the city, with a route that includes Shiekhpura Mod to Income Tax Golambar. A total of 32 reception points will be set up along the route, where party workers and the public will welcome Modi with great enthusiasm. Key Projects to Be Launched and Groundbroken by PM Modi

During his two-day visit, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several key infrastructure projects in Bihar, with an estimated investment of ₹50,000 crores. These projects will span sectors such as road construction, energy generation, and airport infrastructure, and are expected to significantly improve connectivity, energy supply, and public services in the state.1. Road Infrastructure: ₹17,088 Crore for Key Highway Projects

PM Modi will inaugurate several major road projects in Bihar, including:

  • Patna-Gaya-Doabi NH-22: The three packages for NH-22 will be inaugurated, with a total investment of ₹5,519 crore. These upgrades will improve connectivity between Patna and Gaya, two of the state’s largest cities, reducing travel time and increasing economic activity in the region.

  • Gopalganj NH-27 Elevated Road: A 4-lane elevated road on NH-27 in Gopalganj will be inaugurated, with an investment of ₹249 crore. This project is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve transportation efficiency in the area.

  • Patna-Ara-Sasaram NH-119: Two packages of this crucial highway will be inaugurated, contributing to better road connectivity across the region. The total investment in this project is ₹3,712 crore.

  • Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Expressway (NH-319B): The foundation stone for various packages of the Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Expressway will be laid, with an investment of ₹5,994 crore. This expressway will enhance inter-state connectivity and contribute to economic growth in Bihar.

  • 6-Lane Road on NH-119D: The foundation stone for a 6-lane road on NH-119D, stretching from Ramnagar to Kachhi Daragah, will be laid, with an investment of ₹1,083 crore. This will improve connectivity in the region and reduce traffic congestion.

  • Buxar Bridge over the Ganges River: The long-awaited bridge over the Ganges between Buxar and Bhairoli will finally begin construction with an investment of ₹531 crore. This bridge will enhance connectivity between Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

2. Infrastructure Development: Enhancing Public Services

Several public infrastructure projects will also be inaugurated, including:

  • Patna Airport’s New Terminal: PM Modi will inaugurate the newly constructed terminal at Patna Airport, built at a cost of ₹1,200 crore. This terminal will enhance air travel facilities in Bihar and improve connectivity with other parts of India and the world.

  • Nawodaya Vidyalaya Hostel and Staff Quarters: At an investment of ₹8 crore, a new hostel and staff quarters for Nawodaya Vidyalaya will be inaugurated, improving educational infrastructure for students and teachers in the region.

3. Energy and Power Generation: Strengthening Bihar’s Energy Infrastructure

PM Modi will also lay the foundation for key energy projects that are expected to power Bihar’s future growth:

  • NTPC Super Thermal Power Project Stage-2: The foundation for the second stage of NTPC’s super thermal power project in Nabinagar, Aurangabad, will be laid. This project will help meet the growing energy demands of Bihar and neighboring states.

  • Bihata Airport Civil Enclave: The civil enclave at Bihata Airport will be inaugurated, enhancing the region’s aviation capabilities and increasing the potential for regional connectivity.

This visit to Bihar is not just about inaugurating development projects, but it also holds significant political importance.
