PM Modi Meets Operation Sindoor Delegation; Owaisi Misses Out Due to Medical Emergency

Published on

KKN Gurugram Desk | Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted a delegation of MPs and diplomats under Operation Sindoor at his residence in New Delhi on Tuesday evening. The multi-party delegation, including leaders like Shashi Tharoor, Supriya Sule, and Kanimozhi, had recently toured various countries to present India’s strong stance against terrorism. However, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi was notably absent, citing a medical emergency that required him to travel to Dubai .

 Owaisi’s Absence: Medical Emergency Explained

In a statement to ANI, Owaisi explained that he could not attend the meeting with PM Modi due to a medical emergency involving a relative and childhood friend—who required urgent attention in Dubai. He informed delegation leader Baijayant Panda in advance about his absence .

Delegation’s Diplomatic Mission and PM Modi’s Response

The delegation comprised over 50 representatives from across party lines including MPs, former ministers, and diplomats. They visited over 33 countries and EU headquarters, advocating India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism, especially in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack that triggered Operation Sindoor .

The meeting at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg was informal yet poignant, allowing PM Modi to personally hear firsthand accounts from leaders like Shashi Tharoor, Priyanka Chaturvedi, and Manish Tewari who praised the interaction as a dialogue, not a protocol-led briefing .

🇮🇳 Unified Front Against Terrorism

PM Modi thanked the delegates for carrying India’s message to global platforms and emphasized how this diplomatic outreach strengthened India’s position in fighting terrorism linked to Pakistan. He commended the multi-party consensus backing strong counterterror measures .

Leaders highlighted how foreign officials, legislators, and think tanks responded positively to India’s resolute stand. They also proposed institutionalizing such diplomacy by regularly sending delegations for international engagement .

Why Operation Sindoor Matters

Launched in May as a response to the Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor involved precision strikes on terror hideouts in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and mainland Pakistan. The delegation’s mission after this operation was to justify it diplomatically, revealing Pakistan’s deep-state role in sponsoring terror .

Since then, multiple delegations—led by figures from BJP, Congress, DMK, AIMIM, Shiv Sena, and NCP—visited capitals across Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Their message: India won’t tolerate terrorism, globally .

 Political Reactions and Unity Message

The meeting reflected rare political consensus. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said PM Modi engaged in a “pleasant, informal” manner. Priyanka Chaturvedi added that Modi listened attentively. Manish Tewari noted the discussions were free-flowing and insightful .

From BJP’s side, MPs like Gulam Ali Khatana praised the delegation’s success in showcasing India’s stand. Notably, even AIMIM’s Owaisi is supportive of Operation Sindoor, describing it as a vital strike against terror infrastructure .

 Looking Ahead: A Diplomatic Blueprint

The delegation suggested forming parliamentary friendship forums and renewing diplomatic exchanges to maintain momentum. PM Modi affirmed these ideas, signaling intent to continue and expand such international outreach.

Their unified approach aims to place pressure on forums like FATF against Pakistan and encourage global recognition of India’s anti-terror stance.
