Loveyapa Box Office Day 1 Advance Booking: A Slow Start for Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s Big Screen Debut

Loveyapa Box Office Day 1 Advance Booking: A Slow Start for Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s Big Screen Debut

KKN Gurugram Desk | The much-anticipated Bollywood romantic comedy Loveyapa, starring newcomers Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, has finally hit theaters. However, its advance booking figures for day 1 have been underwhelming. Despite an interesting theme, the film failed to generate pre-release buzz among its target audience. As a result, ticket sales at the Indian box office remained significantly low.

Loveyapa’s Struggle in Advance Booking

Both Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor have already made their acting debut on OTT platforms, but Loveyapa marks their first big-screen appearance. Being star kids, expectations were high for their Bollywood launch. However, the film has struggled to create excitement, resulting in poor pre-sales performance.

The film’s advance booking was disappointing, with ticket sales amounting to only ₹18.36 lakh gross, excluding blocked seats. This includes approximately 9,800 tickets sold across India, which is a weak opening for debut actors.

Low Pre-Release Buzz and Intense Competition

Loveyapa entered the market with low ground-level buzz and faced competition from other films in theaters. Despite promotional efforts and discounted ticket pricing, the film could not attract a substantial audience.

Among all states, Delhi led the pre-sales numbers with a gross collection of ₹4 lakh, followed by Maharashtra at ₹3 lakh. In city-wise pre-booking, Delhi-NCR topped with ₹3 lakh worth of tickets sold, while Mumbai followed with ₹2 lakh.

In India’s leading multiplex chains, PVR INOX and Cinepolis, the film sold only 3,400 tickets, which is an alarmingly low number for a Bollywood release.

Show Count vs. Audience Demand

Loveyapa has been allotted a decent number of shows across India. However, the lack of initial audience interest means that this wide release may not translate into strong box office figures. The film now relies entirely on word-of-mouth publicity to boost its collection over the weekend.

Director and Distribution Details

Loveyapa is directed by Advait Chandan, known for films like Secret Superstar and Laal Singh Chaddha. It is distributed by Zee Studios, a major player in Bollywood film distribution. Despite its backing by a well-known production house, the film’s initial response has been weak.

Why Loveyapa’s Advance Booking Failed?

Several factors contributed to Loveyapa’s slow start:

  1. Lack of Strong Promotion – The film failed to create significant hype before release.
  2. Star Kids but No Star Power – Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor are newcomers with no established fan base.
  3. Weak Trailer and Songs – The promotional material did not resonate with audiences.
  4. Competition from Other Films – Several Bollywood and regional films already in theaters drew away potential viewers.
  5. Limited Audience Interest in Rom-Coms – The romantic comedy genre has struggled in recent times unless backed by big stars.

What’s Next for Loveyapa?

With a disappointing day 1 pre-booking, all hopes now rest on positive audience reviews and strong weekend footfalls. If the film receives good word-of-mouth, it may recover from its weak opening. Otherwise, Loveyapa could face an early exit from theaters.

The next 48 hours will be crucial in determining whether this film can gain momentum or remain another forgettable Bollywood debut.
