SSC Vacancy 2025: Huge Opportunity with MTS and Havaldar Recruitment Notification

Published on

The SSC MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) and Havaldar Recruitment 2025 notification will be released on June 26, 2025, marking one of the most highly anticipated recruitment drives by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). These vacancies are among the most applied-for government jobs, offering a promising opportunity for those aspiring to secure a government position. The MTS and Havaldar positions offer candidates a chance to work in various departments under the central government, including positions such as peon, watchman, gardener, and gatekeeper, as well as in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN).

Key Details of SSC MTS and Havaldar Recruitment 2025

The SSC MTS recruitment process is set to begin with the release of the official notification on June 26, 2025, and online applications will open immediately on the official website, ssc.gov.in. The application window will remain open from June 26 to July 24, 2025, and the exam will be conducted from September 20 to October 24, 2025. Last year, the SSC MTS Havaldar 2024 recruitment saw over 5.7 million applications for just 9,583 vacancies, reflecting the immense demand for these positions.

Eligibility Criteria for MTS and Havaldar Positions

Educational Qualifications:

  • For both MTS and Havaldar positions, candidates must have completed at least their 10th grade from a recognized board or university.

Age Limit:

  • MTS: The age limit for MTS is 18-25 years.

  • Havaldar: The age limit for Havaldar is 18-27 years.

  • Candidates from SC/ST categories will receive a 5-year relaxation, while OBC candidates are allowed a 3-year age relaxation. The age will be calculated as of July 1, 2024.

Why SSC MTS is a Great Opportunity for Those with Weak Math and Reasoning Skills

One of the most attractive aspects of the SSC MTS exam is that it provides an excellent opportunity for candidates who may struggle with mathematics and reasoning. The exam is conducted in two sessions, both of which are held on the same day, making it easier for candidates to clear the written test.

Session-1 will focus on Numerical and Mathematical Ability, as well as Reasoning Ability and Problem Solving. A total of 40 questions will be asked from both sections, with 20 questions on Reasoning and 20 questions on Math, each worth 60 marks. Importantly, Session-1 is qualifying and is designed to eliminate candidates who cannot meet the minimum required marks. There will be no negative marking in this session, which makes it an excellent opportunity for candidates who struggle with Math or Reasoning.

For the General Category candidates, only 12 correct answers out of 40 questions are needed to pass this section. For OBC/EWS candidates, it’s 10 correct answers, and for SC/ST candidates, it’s just 8 correct answers. Importantly, Session-1 marks will not contribute to the final merit list.

Session-2 will focus on General Awareness and English Language and Comprehension, with 25 questions each from both sections. The total marks for Session-2 will be 150 marks, and negative marking will apply for this session. One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Minimum Qualifying Marks for Session-1 and Session-2

The minimum qualifying marks for each session in the SSC MTS exam are as follows:

  • Session-1 (Numerical Ability and Reasoning):

    • General (UR): 30%

    • OBC/EWS: 25%

    • SC/ST/PH: 20%

  • Session-2 (General Awareness and English Language):

    • General (UR): 30%

    • OBC/EWS: 25%

    • SC/ST/PH: 20%

Candidates who qualify Session-1 will proceed to Session-2, where the final merit list for the MTS positions will be determined based on Session-2 performance.

Selection Process for Havaldar Post

The selection process for the Havaldar positions includes a Computer-Based Exam (CBE), followed by a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and a Physical Standard Test (PST).

Physical Standards for Havaldar:

  • Male candidates: Minimum height of 157.5 cm and a chest size of 81 cm, with a 5 cm expansion.

  • Female candidates: Minimum height of 152 cm and a weight of at least 48 kg.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

  • Male candidates: Must walk 1600 meters in 15 minutes.

  • Female candidates: Must complete a 1 km race in 20 minutes.

The final selection for Havaldar positions will be based on the candidate’s performance in Session-2 of the CBE and the PET/PST.

Upcoming SSC Recruitment in June 2025

In addition to the MTS and Havaldar Recruitment, the SSC has several other important recruitments lined up for June 2025:

SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level) Recruitment 2025: Online applications are already open for 3,131 positions, including Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant, and Sorting Assistant. The first phase of the CBE will be held from September 8 to 18, 2025.

  3. SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) 2025: The SSC CGL exam for 14,582 positions is underway, with the registration closing on July 4, 2025. The CBE for these positions will be held from December 2025.

  4. SSC Stenographer Recruitment: The SSC Stenographer Grade C & D Recruitment for 261 vacancies is also open, with applications closing on June 26, 2025, and the exam scheduled from August 6 to 11, 2025.

The SSC MTS and Havaldar Recruitment 2025 is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to secure a government job, especially those who may have struggled with maths and reasoning in other exams. With a clear and manageable selection process, including a qualifying session and no negative marking in Session-1, the MTS recruitment offers a great chance to crack the exam.

With online applications starting from June 26, 2025, candidates are encouraged to visit the official SSC website (ssc.gov.in) and apply within the stipulated timeframe. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to secure a government job in 2025!
