SSC CHSL 2025 Exam Pattern

The Tier I examination will consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions. The paper will be divided into four sections:

  • English Language (Basic Knowledge)

  • General Awareness

Each section will carry 25 questions, making a total of 100 questions. The examination duration is 60 minutes for most candidates, while PwD candidates will receive 80 minutes.

The paper is designed to test candidates’ basic skills and aptitude across subjects necessary for clerical and data entry roles. Candidates achieving the cutoff marks in Tier I will move forward to Tier II.

Candidates prepare extensively, often dedicating months or even years to succeed in this recruitment drive. The competition ratio is extremely high, which underlines the importance of meticulous preparation, practice, and awareness of exam strategies.

What Candidates Should Focus On

Ahead of the examination, experts recommend candidates focus on:

  • Strengthening their grasp of basic arithmetic, reasoning, and English grammar.

  • Staying updated with current affairs and general knowledge.

  • Taking mock tests to manage time and improve accuracy.

  • Following exam instructions strictly to avoid disqualification.

With the admit cards expected soon, candidates should also make arrangements to reach their exam centers well in advance and follow all necessary guidelines.

With 3,131 vacancies available and the Tier I exam scheduled between September 8 and 18, candidates are gearing up for one of the most competitive recruitment tests in the country.
