Application Process and Key Dates for CSIR UGC NET December 2025

The application process for the CSIR UGC NET December 2025 exam began on September 25, 2025, and it will close on October 24, 2025. The exam itself is scheduled for December 18, 2025. Candidates will have an opportunity to make corrections in their forms on October 27 and 28, 2025. It is important for applicants to ensure all details are accurate before the correction window closes.

CSIR UGC NET is a vital exam for candidates seeking eligibility for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor (LS) posts in universities, and admission to Ph.D. programs. This exam is conducted twice every year, and the December 2025 session is crucial for those looking to advance in the fields of research and academia.

Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit for CSIR UGC NET December 2025

Candidates applying for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) must meet specific age criteria. The upper age limit for JRF candidates is 30 years. However, certain categories have relaxations:

  • For SC/ST, third gender, PWD (Persons with Disabilities), and women candidates, the upper age limit can be extended by up to 5 years.

  • For OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, the upper age limit can be extended by 3 years.

For candidates applying for the Lectureship (LS) or Assistant Professor positions, there is no upper age limit. This allows more flexibility for candidates aiming for academic positions in universities.

It is crucial for candidates to fill only one application form. Submitting multiple applications will lead to disqualification. Therefore, candidates should carefully review their form and submit it once they are certain all details are accurate.
