Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on an important visit to Bihar. His tour included Gaya Ji and Begusarai, where he launched key development projects worth over ₹13,000 crore. The Prime Minister also delivered a strong political message, attacking the opposition on corruption, infiltration, and governance issues. His day-long visit reflected both infrastructure progress and rising political temperatures in the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed at Gaya Ji airport on Friday. He was received by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, and other senior leaders. From the airport, the Prime Minister traveled in an open jeep to the AMU campus in Bodh Gaya, waving to large crowds gathered along the route.
The Prime Minister’s presence turned the entire region into a festive atmosphere. Security was tight, with thousands of police and paramilitary forces ensuring safety during the mega event.
At the AMU campus in Bodh Gaya, Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth ₹13,000 crore. These included developments in railways, roadways, energy, housing, water supply, and health infrastructure.
He flagged off the Gaya Ji–New Delhi Amrit Bharat Express and the Vaishali–Koderma Buddhist Circuit train through video conferencing. These projects are expected to improve connectivity and tourism in the state.
In his address, Modi emphasized that Bihar’s development has been a top priority under the NDA government. He said new projects would generate jobs, enhance infrastructure, and bring prosperity to the state.
During his 34-minute address, Modi launched a sharp attack on the RJD and Congress. He accused them of protecting infiltrators at the cost of Bihari citizens. He argued that infiltration is taking away land, jobs, and resources from locals.
According to the Prime Minister, the NDA government has started a demographic mission to remove infiltrators. He pledged that the rights of Bihar’s youth will not be compromised.
On corruption, Modi highlighted the proposed 130th Constitutional Amendment Bill. He explained that if any Prime Minister, Chief Minister, or Minister goes to jail, they should not remain in office. He criticized opposition leaders for opposing this bill, accusing them of hiding their crimes.
The Prime Minister referred to Operation Sindoor during his speech. He said Pakistan tried drone and missile attacks during the operation but India destroyed them like straw. Modi stressed that not a single missile from Pakistan could harm India.
He declared that Bihar’s soil has always given strength to India’s resolve. Modi said commitments made from Bihar’s land are always fulfilled, linking it with India’s decisive counter-terror operations.
In a significant political gesture, Modi praised Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for transparency in teacher recruitment and employment campaigns. He said Bihar’s double-engine government is ensuring development across the state.
He mentioned the new Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana launched on August 15. Under the scheme, youth joining private jobs will receive financial support from the government. Companies hiring them will also get incentives, creating more job opportunities in Bihar.
Modi reminded the audience about the difficult times of the so-called Lantern Raj. He said Bihar was once trapped in red terror, where Maoist influence made evening travel unsafe. Many villages lived without electricity poles.
According to Modi, the RJD regime had plunged Bihar into darkness, forcing people to migrate for survival. He accused Congress and its allies of disrespecting Bihari pride and treating locals as just vote banks.
At the rally, Modi performed symbolic house handovers to beneficiaries of the PM Awas Yojana. Around 16,000 rural and urban beneficiaries entered their new homes, with some receiving keys directly from the Prime Minister.
He also praised the renaming of Gaya to Gaya Ji, calling it recognition of cultural traditions. He said the region’s rich history, from Chanakya to Chandragupta, continues to inspire modern India.
After completing his Gaya Ji address, Modi traveled to Begusarai. There, he inaugurated the six-lane Aunta-Simaria bridge over the Ganga River. The bridge connects north and south Bihar, easing traffic flow and saving travel time.
Modi conducted a road show on the bridge, waving to enthusiastic supporters gathered on both sides. Although he did not address a rally in Begusarai, the road show was a spectacle of political strength.
He said the bridge’s inauguration marked fulfillment of a promise made during its foundation laying. According to Modi, such projects will unite Bihar economically and socially.
Political circles buzzed when two RJD legislators appeared on Modi’s stage in Gaya Ji. MLA Vibha Devi, wife of former MLA Rajballabh Prasad, and MLA Prakash Veer were spotted. Their presence fueled speculation about shifting political alignments in Bihar.
Rajballabh Prasad, recently acquitted by the High Court in a serious case, has long been a controversial figure. Their appearance at an NDA rally surprised many observers.
Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi praised Modi’s contribution to Bihar, saying the Prime Minister silenced those demanding special state status. He also highlighted projects like the Amas–Darbhanga Expressway and Varanasi–Kolkata Expressway passing through Magadh.
Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary appealed for more frequent Modi visits, while praising Nitish Kumar’s decision of free electricity up to 125 units.
Nitish himself credited the NDA government for support in every sector, from budgetary packages to hosting national sports events.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav mocked Modi’s visit, calling it a “shop of lies and slogans.” He accused the NDA government of failing to deliver in its long rule.
RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav also criticized Modi, alleging that the Prime Minister was performing the political “shraddh” of Nitish Kumar and JD(U). Their remarks added heat to the already charged political atmosphere.
During the Bihar tour, Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones of projects worth ₹11,735 crore. Key highlights included:
A 660 MW power plant in Buxar.
Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital in Muzaffarpur.
A four-lane project on NH-31 between Bakhtiyarpur and Mokama.
Road upgrades from Bikramganj to Dumraon.
Sewerage and STP projects in Munger.
These projects are expected to boost industrial development and provide jobs to locals.
Modi concluded his speech by reaffirming his role as a servant of the people. He said providing houses, electricity, healthcare, and dignity to the poor brings him the greatest satisfaction.
He added that more than four crore houses had already been given under housing schemes, with two lakh in Gaya Ji district alone.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Gaya Ji and Begusarai was more than an official tour. It combined massive development announcements, strong attacks on opposition, cultural recognition, and political messaging.
While NDA leaders praised his leadership, opposition parties questioned his record. Yet the scale of projects and the response from crowds underline the political weight of this visit.
With Bihar gearing up for electoral battles ahead, Modi’s speeches and inaugurations are likely to shape debates on governance, development, and accountability. For the people of Bihar, the day was both a celebration of progress and a glimpse into the political future.
