PM Modi Bihar Visit: Inauguration of ₹13,000 Crore Projects in Gaya and Begusarai

Published on

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is once again visiting Bihar. This marks his fourth visit to the state in the last two and a half months. Earlier, he addressed programs in Motihari, Siwan, and Bikramganj in Rohtas. Today, the Prime Minister will visit Gaya and Begusarai to launch and inaugurate several key projects worth nearly ₹13,000 crore.

PM Modi to Address Rally in Gaya

The Prime Minister will reach Gaya where a massive public meeting is scheduled at the Magadh University campus in Bodh Gaya. During the rally, he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects. These projects are expected to accelerate growth and strengthen infrastructure across Bihar. Gaya is prepared for the event with tight security and massive arrangements for the public gathering.

Major Development Projects Worth ₹13,000 Crore

According to official details, PM Modi will dedicate projects worth ₹11,735 crore. The list includes six major projects in different districts of Bihar. These projects aim to enhance power supply, health facilities, road networks, bridges, and sanitation systems. The investments reflect the central government’s focus on improving Bihar’s connectivity and infrastructure.

Chausa Thermal Power Plant in Buxar

One of the key projects is the 660 MW thermal power plant at Chausa in Buxar. The plant will improve electricity supply in the region and strengthen Bihar’s power infrastructure. It is part of the government’s broader plan to provide reliable electricity to households and industries. The project also aligns with the vision of making Bihar energy self-sufficient.

Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital in Muzaffarpur

Another significant project is the inauguration of the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Muzaffarpur. The hospital will provide advanced treatment facilities for cancer patients in Bihar and neighboring states. It aims to reduce the dependency of patients on metros like Delhi and Mumbai for specialized healthcare. The research center will also boost medical research in oncology.

Simaria Six-Lane Bridge Inauguration in Begusarai

PM Modi will also travel to Begusarai for a short visit of about 15 minutes. Here, he will inaugurate the much-awaited Simaria six-lane bridge over the Ganga. The bridge is part of the Aonta-Simaria project and will ease traffic congestion on the busy route. It will improve connectivity between north and south Bihar and facilitate faster transport of goods and passengers.

Upgradation of Bikramganj-Dumraon Road

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the upgradation of the Bikramganj-Dumraon road. This project will provide smoother road connectivity in Rohtas and Buxar districts. Improved road infrastructure will help local farmers and traders by reducing travel time and transport costs.

Sewerage and STP Project in Munger

In Munger, the Prime Minister will dedicate a sewerage network and sewage treatment plant (STP) project. The project is expected to improve sanitation and hygiene in the city. It will also reduce pollution in the Ganga river, supporting the Namami Gange initiative.

Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama NH-31 Four-Lane Work

Another important project is the Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama section of National Highway 31. The road has been expanded into four lanes. This upgrade will improve road safety and reduce travel time for commuters. The NH-31 project is a crucial part of Bihar’s road development strategy.

Launch of Amrit Bharat Express and Buddhist Circuit Train

From Gaya, PM Modi will also flag off two important trains virtually. The first is the Amrit Bharat Express, a semi-high-speed passenger train designed to improve connectivity across major routes. The second is the Buddhist Circuit Train, which will connect important Buddhist pilgrimage sites. This train is expected to boost religious tourism and strengthen Bihar’s position as a global Buddhist destination.

Significance of the Projects for Bihar

The projects inaugurated today are expected to transform Bihar’s infrastructure. Improved roads, bridges, and rail connectivity will enhance trade and mobility. The Chausa power plant will strengthen electricity supply, while the Muzaffarpur cancer hospital will provide advanced healthcare. The sewerage project in Munger will improve living conditions and environmental sustainability. Collectively, these projects highlight the government’s commitment to Bihar’s development.

Political Significance of PM Modi’s Visit

PM Modi’s frequent visits to Bihar underline the state’s political importance. Bihar is heading towards assembly elections next year, making these visits significant. Development announcements and project inaugurations are expected to strengthen the BJP’s presence in the state. The public meetings also allow the Prime Minister to directly connect with people and highlight his government’s achievements.

Security and Arrangements in Gaya and Begusarai

Massive security arrangements have been made for the Prime Minister’s visit. Thousands of security personnel have been deployed in Gaya and Begusarai. Traffic diversions and crowd management plans have been implemented to ensure smooth conduct of the events. Local authorities have made special arrangements for the large number of people expected to attend the rally.

Repeated Visits Signal Development Push

This is PM Modi’s fourth visit to Bihar in less than three months. Earlier, he visited Motihari, Siwan, and Bikramganj to inaugurate projects and address gatherings. The repeated visits reflect the government’s emphasis on Bihar’s development. With multiple infrastructure and welfare projects being launched, the Prime Minister is signaling a focused approach towards the state.

PM Modi’s visit to Gaya and Begusarai marks an important day for Bihar. With projects worth nearly ₹13,000 crore, the state is set to witness major improvements in power, healthcare, transport, and sanitation. The inauguration of the Simaria bridge, Chausa power plant, Muzaffarpur cancer hospital, and other projects will bring tangible benefits to the people. The launch of new trains will further improve connectivity and tourism. Overall, the visit highlights both development and political strategy, setting the tone for Bihar’s future growth.
