MP Pappu Yadav Questions Government’s Defence Strategy in Lok Sabha, Raises Alarms Over China-Pakistan Military Ties

Published on

Independent MP from Purnia, Pappu Yadav, made strong and pointed remarks in the Lok Sabha while questioning India’s national security policies. Addressing Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Yadav demanded clarity on the increasing military collaboration between Pakistan, China, and the United States. He raised pressing concerns over recurring terror attacks in Kashmir, particularly the Pahalgam attack, and accused the government of ignoring key security and foreign policy failures.

Defence Concerns Over China and Pakistan Alliance

While participating in the Lok Sabha discussion, Pappu Yadav asked for a detailed explanation from Defence Minister Rajnath Singh regarding the military assistance Pakistan is receiving from China and the US. He highlighted that the growing defence cooperation between these nations poses a major threat to India’s internal security. He questioned why there is a lack of transparency from the Indian government about this increasing threat and said the government must address how this alliance is being tackled strategically.

According to Yadav, while India has the military capability to counter any aggression from Pakistan, the real concern lies in China’s ongoing technological and logistical support to Pakistan. He pointed out that the focus of defence policies needs to shift from celebratory narratives to actionable and preemptive strategies.

Unanswered Questions on the Pahalgam Terror Attack

Referring to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the MP strongly criticized the government’s failure to apprehend the attackers. He questioned how, even after one month, the authorities have failed to trace or arrest the four terrorists involved. In his words, “Where are those four men today? If we cannot catch them within weeks, then are we really in safe hands?”

Pappu Yadav argued that India’s armed forces are capable and committed, but policy and leadership must align with operational excellence. He asserted that 100 Indian soldiers can overpower any external threat, but internal inaction and strategic silence on foreign alliances are compromising the nation’s overall defence posture.

Criticism of Silence on China’s Role

The MP from Purnia criticized the government for not discussing China’s influence in Pakistan’s military development, calling it the biggest threat to regional security. He noted that while media and political discourse continue to focus on symbolic issues, the real challenges like foreign intervention, cross-border arms deals, and drone technologies from China are being left unaddressed.

He emphasized that the government must speak the truth about the dangers lurking beyond the borders. Yadav accused the government of being silent on international defence dynamics and lacking the courage to confront uncomfortable realities.

Targeting Foreign Policy and PM Modi’s Approach

In his fiery speech, Pappu Yadav did not hold back from criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign policy. He alleged that both the security policy and diplomacy have failed to protect India’s interests on critical fronts. According to him, the central government has not only failed to curb terror threats but also failed to diplomatically isolate Pakistan on international platforms.

He claimed that India’s foreign diplomacy lacks direction, and the Prime Minister’s engagements with global powers have not translated into any real advantage in safeguarding national integrity. He further alleged that despite continuous talks of global leadership, India’s diplomatic influence in curbing Pakistan-China defence ties remains ineffective.

Questions on Article 370 and Kashmir Security

Reigniting the debate around Article 370, Pappu Yadav said that the government has continued to highlight its abrogation as a political achievement, while ground realities in Kashmir tell a different story. He argued that after Article 370 was scrapped, the number of terror attacks in Kashmir has increased, and the region remains highly insecure.

He challenged the narrative that abrogating Article 370 brought peace, claiming instead that the situation on the ground reflects deeper unrest. He asked why Kashmir continues to see bloodshed if the constitutional move was meant to secure it. According to Yadav, the time has come for the government to move beyond slogans and address real-time threats with ground-level strategies.

Security in Question: A Demand for Accountability

Yadav’s speech resonated with a growing section of political voices demanding accountability in defence and internal security. He stressed that the government must not only celebrate surgical strikes or past victories but must also answer for current lapses in counter-terror operations. The failure to arrest those responsible for recent terror attacks, he said, reveals major weaknesses in intelligence coordination and counter-insurgency responses.

He emphasized that intelligence failure, lack of real-time action, and political silence cannot be the new normal. A nation with the military power that India possesses cannot afford to stumble in strategic execution, especially in sensitive zones like Kashmir.

The Need for Strategic Clarity and Public Confidence

Concluding his address, Pappu Yadav called on the Defence Minister and the Prime Minister to come clean on the nature of threats posed by China-backed military projects in Pakistan. He said the public deserves a clear understanding of what India is doing to counter the growing external military axis forming near its borders.

He also insisted that strengthening India’s borders is not only about increasing military spending but also about adopting proactive diplomatic and policy measures. He encouraged the government to speak openly and honestly about foreign threats, take political consensus seriously, and prioritize national security beyond political point-scoring.

Pappu Yadav’s questions in the Lok Sabha have reignited a debate around national security, Kashmir’s volatile condition, and foreign interference in South Asia. His remarks may not align with the government’s narrative, but they reflect the growing demand for clarity, responsibility, and real-time action in matters of national defence.

As India prepares to tackle complex regional security dynamics, voices like Yadav’s push for a more transparent, responsive, and united approach to safeguarding sovereignty. The parliament session’s tone has shifted, and with increasing focus on China-Pakistan relations, the government faces pressure to redefine its strategies with urgency.
