Bihar Government’s Rural Development Minister Ashok Choudhary Praises CM Nitish Kumar’s Vision for Inclusive Growth

Published on

On June 30, 2025, Bihar’s Rural Works Minister Ashok Choudhary lauded Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s visionary leadership during his recent visit to the Belhar assembly of Banka district and the Tarapur assembly of Munger district. Speaking at public outreach programs, Choudhary highlighted the significant progress Bihar has made under CM Nitish Kumar’s leadership. He described the Chief Minister as the architect of Bihar’s overall development, praising his sensitive and far-sighted approach toward governance and progress.

These public outreach programs were organized following the launch of several important rural development projects by CM Nitish Kumar. The core objective of these initiatives was not just to expedite the construction process but also to bring inclusive development to every village and locality, ensuring that every citizen benefits from good governance and sustainable progress.

Minister Ashok Choudhary’s Address: A Reflection of Progress

Minister Ashok Choudhary took the opportunity to underscore that the multifaceted development happening across Bihar today is not just a statistical story. “This is the result of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s people-centric vision, administrative commitment, and financial discipline,” Choudhary remarked during his speech. He emphasized that Nitish Kumar’s approach to development is far more than just infrastructure; it is a model of growth that reaches every individual, especially the marginalized ones, ensuring that progress is achieved with justice — the true essence of ‘development with justice.’

Choudhary specifically focused on the significant strides Bihar has made in rural development. He emphasized that the government has made concerted efforts to not only improve the physical infrastructure like roads, electricity, and healthcare but also empower the social and economic fabric of rural areas. By focusing on inclusive development, Nitish Kumar has ensured that Bihar’s progress is shared by all, especially its poor, farmers, and marginalized communities.

Minimum Support Price (MSP) and Empowerment of Farmers

During the event at Tarapur assembly, Choudhary took a moment to praise Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for implementing the Minimum Support Price (MSP) system in Bihar after independence, calling it a groundbreaking move. “This is a historic decision that has empowered farmers and provided them with the respect they deserve. It is a decision that has strengthened the agricultural sector and uplifted the dignity of our farmers,” he remarked.

The Minimum Support Price has been a game-changer for farmers, providing them with a safety net for their produce. This initiative reflects Nitish Kumar’s commitment to ensuring that agriculture remains a prosperous and sustainable sector in Bihar. Choudhary explained that such initiatives are a testament to Nitish Kumar’s forward-thinking leadership and deep understanding of the state’s socio-economic challenges.

Historical Achievements Under Nitish Kumar’s Leadership

Ashok Choudhary also took the time to remind the audience of the monumental changes Bihar has experienced under CM Nitish Kumar’s leadership, particularly over the last two decades. “Before 2005, Bihar was detached from the mainstream of development,” Choudhary said, highlighting that the state’s development rate was just 2.3%, with a budget of ₹23,000 crores, and the poverty rate stood at 46%. “Today, Bihar’s development rate has crossed 10%, its budget has surpassed ₹3.17 lakh crore, and basic facilities like roads, electricity, education, and healthcare are now accessible in every village,” he added.

These achievements are a direct result of Nitish Kumar’s tireless work, commitment to governance, and his ability to mobilize resources for the state’s growth. The development story of Bihar is not just about the increase in financial figures, but also about the improvement in the lives of the people, especially in rural areas.

Acknowledgment of Key Leaders and Initiatives

At the event, along with Ashok Choudhary, various local leaders were present, including Belhar MLA Manoj Yadav, Tarapur MLA Rajeev Kumar Singh, JDU district president Amarendra Kumar Singh, Bihar State Citizens Council General Secretary Bhai Chotu Singh, Mukhiya Chandan Yadav, JDU leader Shambhu Yadav, and several other officials. All speakers collectively acknowledged the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who they credited for introducing transformative schemes for the poor, farmers, youth, women, and marginalized communities.

Choudhary highlighted that Nitish Kumar’s leadership is not only a governance model but also a robust system of visionary thinking. “This leadership model ensures the active participation and inclusion of every citizen in Bihar’s development. Today, we are seeing how development programs are being implemented on the ground in the remotest parts of Bihar, creating a sense of employment and dignity among the people,” he stated.

Strengthening Bihar’s Economic Growth and Self-Reliance

Choudhary concluded his speech by expressing optimism about Bihar’s future. He emphasized that the state is rapidly advancing towards economic prosperity and self-reliance, and every citizen has a part to play in this journey. “I appeal to everyone to support Bihar’s development by casting their votes in favor of Nitish Kumar, thus strengthening his leadership for the continued progress of the state,” Choudhary urged.

As Bihar continues on its development trajectory, the state is witnessing a steady increase in economic activity, creating job opportunities, and empowering local communities. The government’s focus on infrastructure development, social welfare programs, and policies that support farmers and the rural economy have paved the way for a more prosperous future for Bihar.

Inclusive Development and Good Governance: The Nitish Kumar Model

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s governance model is based on inclusivity, good governance, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people. The development of Bihar under his leadership has been multifaceted, with a focus on providing essential services to every village and every citizen. His policies have had a profound impact on Bihar’s growth, particularly in rural areas where people were once deprived of basic infrastructure and essential services.

From roads to electricity, healthcare, and education, Bihar has seen a dramatic transformation in its rural areas. These efforts have resulted in improved living standards for millions of people and have helped bridge the gap between urban and rural Bihar. The success of these initiatives lies in their ability to reach the most marginalized sections of society, ensuring that the benefits of development are shared by all.

The state of Bihar stands at the cusp of a new era, driven by visionary leadership and strong political will. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s focus on inclusive development, good governance, and economic empowerment is propelling Bihar towards a future of self-reliance and prosperity. As the state continues to advance on this trajectory, the collective efforts of its people, coupled with strong leadership, will ensure that Bihar’s development story is one of success, inclusivity, and long-lasting impact.
