BSEB Bihar Board Inter Exam 2026 Begins Across State With Tight Security Measures

Published on

The Bihar Board Intermediate Examination 2026 has officially begun across the state. Students appeared at examination centres from early morning. Streets witnessed large crowds of students in school uniforms. Admit cards were in hand. Anxiety and hope were visible on faces.

The Class 12 annual examination is being conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board. The exams will continue from February 2 to February 13, 2026. More than 13 lakh students are appearing this year. The board has made elaborate arrangements to ensure a fair and smooth examination process.

Over 13 Lakh Students Appear at 1762 Exam Centres

According to official data, a total of 13,17,846 candidates are taking the Intermediate examination. The exams are being held at 1762 centres across Bihar. Students are appearing in different streams and subjects.

In Patna district alone, 84 examination centres have been set up. Around 73,963 candidates are appearing from the capital. The board has paid special attention to security and monitoring in urban and sensitive zones.

Special Model Centres Set Up for Girl Students in Patna

One of the key highlights this year is the creation of four model examination centres in Patna. These centres are reserved exclusively for girl students.

The board has deployed female police personnel and women inspectors at these locations. Separate security arrangements have also been made. Officials said the initiative aims to provide a safer and more comfortable environment for female candidates during the examination.

Strict Monitoring to Prevent Cheating

The Bihar Board has implemented strict measures to conduct a copy-free examination. All centres are under close surveillance. Students are being checked twice before entering the premises.

Mobile phones and prohibited materials are strictly banned. Any violation of rules will attract strict action. Board officials have made it clear that no leniency will be shown in cheating cases.

Students Advised to Reach Centres Early

The board has advised students to reach their respective centres at least one hour before the examination. Entry gates are being closed thirty minutes before the exam begins.

No student is allowed entry after the scheduled time. This rule applies even if a student carries a valid admit card. Authorities said punctuality is mandatory for maintaining discipline.

Clear Guidelines Issued for Candidates

The board has issued clear instructions regarding prohibited items. Students are not allowed to carry mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, or any electronic gadgets inside the centre.

If a candidate is found carrying any restricted item, it will be treated as a cheating offence. The student will be expelled from the examination immediately. Officials said strict enforcement is necessary to protect honest candidates.

Enhanced Security Arrangements at All Centres

Security arrangements have been tightened further this year. Two-level screening is being conducted at every examination centre.

CCTV cameras have been installed in all examination halls. Continuous videography is also being done. One invigilator has been deployed for every 25 students. This arrangement is meant to detect and prevent any irregular activity quickly.

Examination Being Held in Two Shifts

The Intermediate examination is being conducted in two shifts each day. The first shift runs from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm. Entry for this shift begins at 8:30 am.

The second shift is scheduled from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm. Entry for the afternoon shift starts at 1:00 pm. The board has ensured smooth movement of students during shift changes.

Additional Reading Time Provided to Students

Students are being given an extra 15 minutes to read the question paper. This cool off time is provided in both shifts.

The board believes this helps students understand questions better. It also reduces stress at the start of the examination.

Board Appeals for Discipline and Rule Compliance

Board officials have appealed to students to strictly follow all guidelines. They have urged candidates to cooperate with invigilators and security staff.

Parents have also been requested not to crowd examination centres. Authorities said unnecessary gathering creates security challenges.

Smooth Start Reported on First Day

The first day of the examination passed without any major incident. Officials reported orderly conduct at most centres.

Flying squads and magistrates are monitoring sensitive locations. The board is maintaining real-time coordination with district administrations.

Focus on Fair and Transparent Examination

The Bihar Board has reiterated its commitment to fair and transparent examinations. Officials said all arrangements were made well in advance.

The board aims to complete the Inter Exam 2026 smoothly and on schedule. Students have been advised to remain calm and confident.

As the examinations continue till February 13, authorities remain on high alert. Further updates will depend on daily reports from districts.
