Bihar Weather Update : Dense Fog and Cold Wave Affecting Various Districts, Check the Latest Forecast

Published on

As winter sets in across Bihar, the weather conditions have begun to change drastically, with dense fog affecting several districts, including Patna, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, and others. The temperature in Patna has dropped significantly, reaching a low of 8 degrees Celsius, and the cold is becoming more intense. As a result, residents have started relying on heaters and bonfires to keep warm during the night. People who were previously wearing half sweaters are now seen opting for full sweaters and jackets due to the chill.

Cold Wave Hits Bihar: Dense Fog and Low Visibility Across Patna and Other Areas

The region has witnessed an increasing amount of fog in the past 24 hours, significantly impacting visibility. On Monday night and Tuesday morning, many districts, including Patna, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Supaul, Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnia, Katihar, Kishanganj, and Araria, experienced dense fog. On Monday, the fog was so thick that the sunlight was unable to reach the earth’s surface properly. As of now, even though the sun has come out, it remains dim due to the persistent fog.

Weather Advisory: Fog and Cold Weather Expected to Continue in Bihar

The Meteorological Department has issued an advisory urging travelers to exercise caution, particularly during the early morning hours when fog is expected to worsen visibility. They have recommended that people use fog lights while driving and maintain a safe speed on the roads to avoid accidents. The department also suggested that, due to the increasing cold, people should wear warm clothing when stepping out of their homes.

Bihar’s Weather Forecast: Cold to Persist for Several Days

According to the weather forecast, Bihar will experience dry weather over the next seven days, with only a slight chance of rain. However, the cold wave will continue, and some areas in the state may experience light to moderate fog during the morning hours. The fog could cause reduced visibility, which could lead to travel disruptions in certain districts. The Meteorological Department has urged people to be cautious, especially while traveling in the morning hours.

Significant Drop in Temperatures Expected in Bihar

Over the next four to five days, temperatures in Bihar are expected to drop further. The maximum temperature in many parts of the state will experience a decline, and the minimum temperature could also fall by up to 2 degrees Celsius. While the temperature fluctuations are expected to remain relatively mild, weather experts believe that the cold wave’s impact will continue at a moderate pace for the foreseeable future.

Bihar Weather News: Schools in Patna Adjust Timings Due to Rising Cold

As the cold intensifies in Patna, local authorities have decided to adjust school timings. Schools in the city have been instructed to begin classes no earlier than 8 AM, with an emphasis on ensuring students are not exposed to extreme temperatures early in the morning. This step has been taken to ensure the safety and well-being of children attending school during the chilly mornings.

Bihar Records Significant Temperature Variations: Maximum Temperatures in Various Districts

Over the past 24 hours, Bihar has experienced dry weather, with no rainfall recorded in any part of the state. The highest maximum temperature recorded was 28.1 degrees Celsius in Kishanganj, while the lowest minimum temperature was 8.4 degrees Celsius in Sabour, Bhagalpur. Temperatures across the state ranged from 22 to 28.1 degrees Celsius for the maximum and 8.4 to 15.6 degrees Celsius for the minimum. In Patna, the maximum temperature reached 23.1 degrees Celsius, and the minimum was recorded at 13.7 degrees Celsius.

Visibility Issues Due to Dense Fog: Purnia Reports Low Visibility

One of the main issues caused by the dense fog in Bihar is significantly reduced visibility. In Purnia, the minimum visibility was recorded at just 400 meters, posing a risk to road and air travel. The fog has continued to affect daily life, making it important for people to stay informed about the weather updates and take necessary precautions. Despite the cold weather, there has been no rainfall, and the dry conditions are expected to continue for the coming days.

As Bihar continues to experience a cold wave with dense fog affecting visibility and temperatures dropping, residents are advised to take appropriate measures to stay warm and safe. With the forecast predicting more fog and colder temperatures in the coming days, people should avoid unnecessary travel in the early morning hours and remain cautious on the roads. As the situation develops, it is essential to stay updated on the latest weather reports to ensure safety and well-being during this cold spell.

This weather update highlights the growing need for residents to stay prepared and adapt to the chilly conditions. With temperature variations and fog being a significant concern, following safety guidelines will help reduce the risks associated with low visibility and cold temperatures across Bihar.
