Tension gripped parts of Gaya city after a patient died during treatment at a private clinic. The incident occurred at Parmar Neuro Spine and Dental Clinic in AP Colony under Rampur police station area. The deceased patient was identified as Devki Yadav. According to family members, Devki Yadav had suffered a road accident a few days earlier. The accident reportedly caused serious injuries to his neck, including multiple fractures.

For treatment, the family admitted him to Parmar Nursing Home. They alleged that the doctor assured them the surgery was routine and safe. The family was told that the patient would recover fully after the operation.

The estimated cost of surgery was around one and a half lakh rupees. On Wednesday, the family deposited fifty thousand rupees at the clinic. They said the remaining amount was to be paid later.

Surgery Conducted, Family Claims Lack of Transparency

Family members stated that Devki Yadav was taken to the operation theatre around six in the evening. After the surgery, they repeatedly asked about his condition. They claimed no clear information was provided for several hours.

According to the family, the doctor later showed them a short video clip. The clip reportedly showed two rods and three clips inserted into the neck. Despite this, the family said they were not allowed to meet or speak with the patient.

They were repeatedly told that the patient was stable. The clinic staff allegedly assured them that there was no reason for concern. Family members claimed these assurances later proved misleading.

Condition Allegedly Deteriorated Overnight

Relatives alleged that the patient’s condition worsened during the night. They claimed the hospital management did not inform them about the seriousness of the situation. According to them, critical information was withheld.

By morning, the family was informed that Devki Yadav had suffered a cardiac arrest. Doctors declared him dead soon after. This announcement triggered anger and grief among the relatives.

Doctor Parmar stated that the patient later suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. He said CPR and all emergency medical measures were immediately administered. Despite all efforts, the patient could not be saved.

He maintained that calling the incident medical negligence was incorrect. He said such complications can occur in critical trauma cases.

Police Await Written Complaint

Rampur police station in-charge Dinesh Singh said no written complaint had been received yet. He stated that a formal investigation would begin after receiving an application from the family.

He also confirmed that after the incident, doctors and staff were reportedly absent from the clinic. Police are monitoring the situation closely and gathering information from all sides.

Authorities said the case would be examined seriously once official documentation is submitted. Police assured that appropriate action would follow based on findings.
