AIMIM Announces 25 Candidates for Bihar Assembly Elections, Criticizes Prashant Kishor’s Comments

Published on

The All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) has announced its list of 25 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. The party, led by Asaduddin Owaisi, has been actively preparing for the elections, where voting will take place in two phases on November 6 and 11, 2025. The counting of votes is scheduled for November 14. Meanwhile, another political player, Jan Suraj, has claimed to contest all 243 seats in Bihar, signaling an intense political battle in the state.

AIMIM Responds to Prashant Kishor’s Remarks

AIMIM has expressed its dissatisfaction with the remarks made by Prashant Kishor, the founder of Jan Suraj. The party accused Kishor of trying to boost his political image by using the name of Asaduddin Owaisi. Kishor had recently advised Owaisi to focus on Hyderabad instead of the Seemanchal region in Bihar. AIMIM spokesperson Waris Pathan responded strongly, saying that giving advice was the easiest thing to do and that Kishor should keep his suggestions to himself. Pathan also criticized Kishor’s involvement in the region, stating that he and other political leaders like RJD, Congress, and JD(U) were feeling uncomfortable seeing the large crowds attending Owaisi’s rallies in Seemanchal.

Political Tensions Between Prashant Kishor and AIMIM

Pathan further emphasized that Kishor, along with other political parties, was using Owaisi’s name to strengthen their own political positions. He accused Kishor of being fearful and anxious because he was not contesting the elections. The AIMIM spokesperson asserted that the massive turnout at Owaisi’s rallies in Seemanchal had caused discomfort among the existing political parties, who were now attempting to downplay Owaisi’s growing influence.

Prashant Kishor’s Advice to Owaisi

Earlier, Prashant Kishor had publicly stated that while Owaisi was a respected and educated leader, he should focus on his stronghold in Hyderabad rather than trying to expand his influence in Bihar. Kishor suggested that Owaisi’s focus should be on improving the welfare of Muslims in Hyderabad rather than creating confusion by entering the Seemanchal region. Kishor’s advice was that the Muslim community in Seemanchal should not repeat the mistakes made in the 2020 elections. According to Kishor, Owaisi’s political efforts would be better spent in his own region of Hyderabad rather than in Bihar, where he was seen as an outsider.

AIMIM’s Election Strategy and Candidate List

In the lead-up to the Bihar Assembly elections, AIMIM has revealed the list of 25 candidates it will field in the contest. This move is part of the party’s broader strategy to expand its influence in Bihar, particularly in the Seemanchal region, which has a significant Muslim population. AIMIM’s leadership, particularly Asaduddin Owaisi, has been focusing on gaining support from Bihar’s Muslim voters, who have been traditionally inclined towards other parties like the RJD and Congress.

With the announcement of these candidates, AIMIM is setting the stage for a competitive campaign in Bihar’s 243-seat legislative assembly. The party’s aim is to challenge the dominance of larger political forces in the state and establish a stronger presence among the voters.

Election Timeline for Bihar Assembly Elections

The Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled to take place in two phases: the first phase on November 6, 2025, and the second phase on November 11, 2025. The final vote counting will be conducted on November 14, 2025. These elections will determine the political landscape of Bihar, and AIMIM’s strategy will play a key role in shaping the results.

Jan Suraj’s Claim to Contest All Seats

Alongside AIMIM, Jan Suraj, led by Prashant Kishor, has announced its intention to contest all 243 seats in Bihar. Kishor’s party is attempting to establish itself as a major political force in the state, with a focus on attracting voters who are disillusioned with the traditional political parties. Jan Suraj’s move to challenge every seat in the assembly election is part of its strategy to gain a foothold in the state’s politics.

The Political Dynamics of Bihar

Bihar’s political scene has traditionally been dominated by the RJD, JD(U), and Congress, with other smaller parties like AIMIM now attempting to carve out a niche. AIMIM’s strategy of fielding candidates in key constituencies, particularly in areas with significant Muslim populations like Seemanchal, is seen as an effort to capitalize on voter discontent with the established parties. The party is hoping to make significant inroads in the upcoming elections.

With multiple parties contesting aggressively, the Bihar Assembly elections of 2025 are expected to be highly competitive. As AIMIM releases its list of candidates and strengthens its political base, the stage is set for an intense electoral battle.

The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections will be a pivotal moment for AIMIM as it seeks to expand its influence in the state. With its candidate list now revealed, the party is preparing for a challenging contest. The political dynamics in Bihar are shifting, and AIMIM, under the leadership of Asaduddin Owaisi, is positioning itself as a formidable player in the state’s politics. The clash of political ideologies, including the rivalry with Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj, will undoubtedly shape the future of Bihar’s political landscape. As the elections approach, all eyes will be on the outcome, as each party vies for a significant role in Bihar’s governance.
