A heartbreaking incident has emerged from Jhajjar district in Haryana. Two young men from Bihar lost their lives while filming a social media reel on a railway track. The accident occurred when a high-speed train hit them during the recording. The tragic deaths have plunged both their native villages into deep mourning.

The victims have been identified as 20-year-old Rahul Thakur and 21-year-old Rohit Thakur. Both belonged to West Champaran district in Bihar. Rahul and Rohit were closely related, with Rohit being the brother of Rahul’s brother-in-law. Their sudden deaths have shocked family members and local residents alike.

Accident Occurred During Evening Hours

The fatal incident took place on Wednesday evening at a railway track in Jhajjar. According to available information, the two youths were standing on the track to record a reel. They were unaware of the approaching train or misjudged its speed. Within moments, a fast-moving train struck them.

The impact was extremely severe. Both youths died on the spot. The collision was so forceful that their bodies were badly damaged. Passersby immediately alerted local authorities after witnessing the incident.

Police Reached Spot After Information

After receiving information, Jhajjar police rushed to the accident site. Due to the condition of the bodies and safety concerns, the process of clearing the railway track took several hours. Officials said it took nearly five hours to complete formalities and remove the bodies.

Rail traffic on the route was affected temporarily. Police ensured proper documentation before shifting the bodies. The area was later cleared for train movement.

Victims Were Residents of West Champaran

Rahul Thakur was a resident of Fatehpur Badhai Tola under Yogapatti police station area. Rohit Thakur lived in Ward-7 Sudamanagar of Bathna Panchayat under Bairia block. Both villages are located in West Champaran district.

The news of their deaths reached the villages late Wednesday night. Soon after, a wave of grief spread across both localities. Families, neighbors, and relatives gathered to console the bereaved households.

Families Devastated by Sudden Loss

The families of both youths are in deep shock. Since the incident, cooking has stopped in both homes. Relatives described the loss as unbearable. Many villagers said the young men had gone out only to earn a living.

According to family members, Rahul and Rohit were working in Jhajjar for employment. They were staying there for work-related purposes. Both were considered hardworking and responsible by those who knew them.

Relative Recounts Last Conversation

Narad Thakur, a relative of the deceased, shared details about the last moments before the tragedy. He said he runs a barber shop in Jhajjar. Rahul and Rohit were working with him at the shop.

On Wednesday evening, both youths told him they were going to record a reel near the railway track. Narad tried to stop them and warned about the danger. However, they insisted and left, saying they would return soon.

A short while later, Narad received the devastating news of the accident. He rushed to the site but could do nothing. The scene left him shattered.

Post-Mortem Completed in Jhajjar

Jhajjar police conducted post-mortem examinations on Thursday. After completing legal procedures, the bodies were handed over to the families. Arrangements were made to send the bodies to Bihar.

The bodies were placed in an ambulance for transportation. However, the journey has been delayed due to dense fog conditions. Authorities said poor visibility slowed movement on highways.

Bodies Expected to Reach Villages Late

Family members said the bodies were expected to reach the villages by Friday evening. Villagers are preparing for the last rites. Many relatives have already gathered to support the grieving families.

Local leaders and residents have expressed condolences. The incident has left the entire region in sorrow. People described the tragedy as a reminder of life’s unpredictability.

Social Media Obsession Raises Safety Concerns

This incident has once again highlighted the dangers of risky behavior for social media content. Recording reels on railway tracks poses serious threats. Experts have repeatedly warned against such actions.

Despite awareness campaigns, many youths continue to take extreme risks for online popularity. Railway tracks remain one of the most dangerous locations for such activities. Trains approach silently and at high speed.

Authorities have urged people to avoid such stunts. They stressed that no online content is worth risking a human life. Similar incidents have occurred in the past across different states.

Villages Mourn Loss of Young Lives

In both villages, the atmosphere remains tense and sorrowful. Elderly residents described the incident as deeply painful. Many said the youths had bright futures ahead.

Family members are struggling to cope with the sudden loss. The deaths have left young children and parents devastated. The emotional impact is expected to last long.

Call for Awareness and Responsibility

Residents have demanded stronger awareness campaigns about railway safety. They believe young people must be educated about the consequences of risky actions. Some locals also suggested stricter enforcement near railway tracks.

Officials have reiterated safety guidelines. They warned against trespassing on railway property. They also urged content creators to act responsibly.

A Tragedy That Leaves Lasting Questions

The deaths of Rahul Thakur and Rohit Thakur serve as a painful lesson. What began as a short reel attempt ended in irreversible loss. Their story has left many questioning the cost of social media fame.

As families prepare for the final farewell, grief hangs heavy in the air. The incident stands as a reminder that safety should always come first. No momentary thrill can replace a human life.
