Road Accidents in Bihar : Two Tragic Incidents Reported in Purnia and Kishanganj

Published on

In two separate incidents in Bihar, road accidents have resulted in serious injuries and one fatality. These accidents, which occurred in the Purnia and Kishanganj districts, have shaken the local communities and raised concerns about road safety.

Fatal Accident in Purnia District

In Purnia, a tragic road accident took place near Janata Chowk, located within the jurisdiction of Baisi police station. According to eyewitness reports, a motorcyclist was riding at high speed when he suddenly lost control of his bike. The motorcycle flipped over, throwing the rider to the ground and resulting in his immediate death. The victim was later identified as Manoj Sah, the son of Bhola Sah, a resident of Dharmganj in Kishanganj district.

Manoj was on his way to attend his brother-in-law’s wedding when the unfortunate incident occurred. His family had been eagerly awaiting the wedding celebrations, but this accident brought grief to the household. The victim’s family was in shock after hearing the news of his death.

After the incident, local police arrived at the scene promptly. The body was taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination. The police have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident, and further legal procedures are underway. The police have also seized the damaged motorcycle involved in the incident.

Manoj Sah’s Journey Before the Tragedy

Manoj Sah was traveling from his home in the Bairia village of Mianpur Panchayat in the Baisi police station area. He was headed towards Khariya in the Amour police station area to attend his sister’s wedding. While traveling along State Highway 99, near Janata Mor, the motorcycle lost control and overturned, causing the fatal crash.

Manoj’s family and relatives, who were eagerly preparing for the wedding, were devastated by this unexpected loss. The tragic accident has left a deep void in the family, and the wedding celebrations quickly turned into a time of mourning.

Police Investigation and Ongoing Actions

Upon receiving the report of the accident, the Baisi police station officers, led by Station Head Shiv Kumar Paswan, reached the site of the crash. After documenting the scene and collecting evidence, the police sent the body for a post-mortem. The investigation into the accident’s cause is still ongoing, and authorities are working to determine whether any external factors contributed to the tragic event.

The police also seized the damaged motorcycle and will examine it as part of their ongoing investigation. Authorities have assured the public that they will take all necessary steps to ensure road safety and investigate accidents thoroughly.

Another Road Accident in Janakinagar, Banmankhi

In a separate incident, two young men were seriously injured in a road accident in the Janakinagar area under the Banmankhi sub-division. The accident occurred near Madhuban Chowk. According to reports, both individuals were hit by a speeding motorcycle while crossing the road. They were taken to the Banmankhi Sub-Divisional Hospital for medical treatment.

The injured victims have been identified as Sikandar Rishi, son of Hero Rishi, and Karan Kumar, son of Shambhu Kumar Yadav, both residents of Madhuban Ward No. 1 in the Janakinagar police station area. Sikandar Rishi was attempting to cross the Sarsaha-Purnia National Highway 107 near Madhuban Chowk when a motorcycle coming from Murliganj to Janakinagar struck him.

Medical Treatment for the Injured

Both Sikandar and Karan were severely injured in the accident. They received immediate medical attention at the Banmankhi Sub-Divisional Hospital, where doctors are providing treatment for their injuries. As per the latest reports, their conditions are being monitored, and the doctors are hopeful about their recovery.

The accident in Janakinagar highlights the growing concerns over traffic safety, particularly on highways and busy intersections. The local authorities have urged drivers to be more cautious and obey traffic rules, as such incidents can lead to severe consequences.

Urgency for Road Safety Measures

These two incidents serve as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety. The tragic death of Manoj Sah and the injuries sustained by Sikandar and Karan highlight the dangers that motorcyclists and pedestrians face daily. As Bihar’s road infrastructure continues to develop, it becomes crucial for both local authorities and the public to focus on preventing accidents and ensuring safer road conditions.

The accidents in Purnia and Janakinagar have sparked conversations around traffic discipline and the need for better road safety measures. Local authorities have emphasized the importance of speed regulations and safer road designs. They are also calling for increased awareness campaigns to encourage responsible driving, particularly in areas with heavy traffic.

The recent road accidents in Purnia and Janakinagar have left the local communities in shock and grief. The death of Manoj Sah has brought a tragic end to a wedding celebration, while the injuries to Sikandar and Karan remind us of the dangers on the roads. These incidents underscore the urgent need for improved road safety measures and more awareness about safe driving practices. As investigations continue, both the police and the public must take collective responsibility to prevent such accidents in the future. Ensuring safety on the roads should be a priority for everyone, from authorities to everyday commuters.
