Bihar Weather Update : Dense Fog Warning in Five Northern Districts, Temperature to Rise Soon

Published on

Weather conditions in Bihar are set to remain foggy across most regions. Partial fog will continue to affect a large part of the state. Dense fog is expected in five districts of North Bihar. These districts include East Champaran, West Champaran, Madhubani, Supaul, and Saran. The warning applies mainly to morning and late evening hours.

Meteorological officials have advised residents to remain cautious. Visibility may drop sharply during early hours. Daily movement and transport could face disruptions in fog-affected areas. The foggy conditions are typical for this time of year. Cold air and calm wind patterns are contributing factors.

Light to Moderate Fog Expected in Patna and Nearby Areas

Patna and surrounding regions will likely experience light to moderate fog. The fog intensity may increase during early mornings and after sunset. Daytime conditions are expected to improve slightly. Sunshine during noon hours may reduce fog density temporarily.

Despite fog, temperatures will remain within a comfortable winter range. Over the next two days, minimum temperatures may stay between 9 and 14 degrees Celsius. Maximum daytime temperatures may range from 22 to 28 degrees Celsius. This indicates stable winter conditions across most parts of Bihar.

Gradual Rise in Maximum Temperature After 48 Hours

According to the Patna Meteorological Centre, a rise in maximum temperature is expected. The increase may range between two and four degrees Celsius. This change is likely after the next 48 hours. The gradual warming will bring slight relief from the winter chill.

The rise in temperature is linked to changing atmospheric patterns. Western disturbances are influencing regional weather systems. These systems often affect north and central India during winter. Their impact may also bring light rainfall to some districts.

Light Rain Likely in Southwestern Districts Around February Three

Weather experts have indicated chances of light rainfall. The rainfall may occur around February three. Southwestern districts may be affected by this change. These districts include Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Bhabua, Aurangabad, and Arwal.

Rainfall, if it occurs, will likely be light and scattered. Only one or two locations in these districts may receive rain. The rain could increase humidity levels temporarily. It may also enhance fog conditions during following mornings.

Lowest Temperature Recorded at Valmiki Nagar

On Thursday, Valmiki Nagar recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state. The mercury dipped to 10.4 degrees Celsius. This made it the coldest place in Bihar for the day. Cold conditions prevailed throughout the morning hours.

Patna recorded a minimum temperature of 14.4 degrees Celsius. This is slightly higher than the seasonal average. Other urban areas also saw similar temperature trends. Night temperatures remained stable across the region.

Poor Visibility Reported in Fog-Hit Areas

Dense fog significantly reduced visibility in some areas. Valmiki Nagar reported the lowest visibility level. Visibility dropped to nearly 300 meters during peak fog hours. Such conditions pose risks for road and rail travel.

Drivers have been advised to use fog lights. Speed restrictions are recommended during early hours. Public transport services may also experience delays. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.

Light Rainfall Recorded in Bagaha and Valmiki Nagar

Some areas of West Champaran received light rainfall. Bagaha recorded 2.0 millimeters of rain. Valmiki Nagar received 1.6 millimeters of rainfall. The rain occurred due to local atmospheric changes.

The rainfall was brief and scattered. It did not cause any major disruption. However, moisture from rainfall may increase fog intensity. Morning hours following rain could see denser fog conditions.

Daytime Temperatures Remain Moderate Across Cities

Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 24.0 degrees Celsius. Supaul recorded the highest maximum temperature at 26.6 degrees Celsius. Other major cities recorded moderate daytime temperatures.

Gaya recorded a maximum of 24.0 degrees Celsius. Bhagalpur saw a daytime temperature of 25.5 degrees Celsius. Muzaffarpur recorded a cooler maximum of 22.6 degrees Celsius. These readings indicate slight regional variation.

Cool Breeze Adds to Morning and Evening Chill

A noticeable increase in westerly wind speed was observed. This change brought a mild chill during mornings and evenings. The breeze added to the winter feel despite stable temperatures.

Residents in Patna and nearby districts felt cooler conditions. Light cold waves were noticeable after sunset. Daytime warmth remained comfortable under clear skies.

Weather Outlook for the Coming Days

Fog is expected to remain the dominant weather feature. Northern districts may continue to face dense fog warnings. Central and southern regions will see lighter fog conditions.

The expected rise in maximum temperature may reduce daytime cold. However, mornings and nights will remain chilly. Light rainfall in southwestern districts may alter local conditions briefly.

Weather officials recommend caution during early travel hours. Visibility-related issues may continue for several days. Regular updates from meteorological authorities are advised.

Bihar’s winter weather remains steady with fog as the main concern. Dense fog warnings in North Bihar highlight the need for caution. Temperature trends suggest gradual warming in coming days.

Rainfall activity will remain limited and localized. Overall weather conditions are typical for late winter. Residents should stay alert and plan daily activities accordingly.
