Published on

The Madhya Pradesh education department has released the date sheet for Class 5 and Class 8 board examinations for 2026. Students across the state can now begin focused preparation, as the examination schedule has been officially announced. The MP Board Class 5 and Class 8 examinations will start from February 26, 2026, and will be conducted in a single shift each day.

Single Shift Exams from Morning to Noon

According to the notification, both Class 5 and Class 8 board exams will be held in one shift only. The examination timing will be from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. This uniform schedule aims to ensure smooth conduct of examinations across the state. Schools have also been instructed to conduct practical examinations between February 10 and March 10, 2026.

The examinations are being conducted under the supervision of the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education. Officials stated that necessary guidelines will be shared with schools to avoid any confusion.

Language Selection Rules for Students

The board has clearly defined the language selection pattern for students. If a student chooses Hindi, Urdu, or Marathi as the first language, English will be mandatory as the second language. Similarly, students selecting English as the first language must opt for Hindi as the second language. This rule will apply to both Class 5 and Class 8 examinations.

Education officials said this structure is designed to strengthen bilingual proficiency among students and ensure balanced language learning.

Class 8 Exam to Begin with Language Paper

The Class 8 board examination will start with the first language paper. The mathematics examination for Class 8 students will be held on February 25, 2026. The social science examination is scheduled for February 26, 2026. The remaining subjects will follow as per the official timetable.

Students have been advised to check their subject combinations carefully. Schools will provide final admit cards closer to the examination date.

MP Board Class 5 Time Table 2026 Overview

The Class 5 board examination schedule has been planned across multiple subjects. The first examination will be held on February 20, 2026. On this day, students will appear for Hindi, English, Urdu, and Marathi papers, based on their chosen medium and syllabus.

On February 21, 2026, examinations for Mathematics and Sanskrit will be conducted. The next examination is scheduled for February 23, 2026, covering Hindi and English subjects again, depending on the curriculum.

The Environmental Studies paper will be conducted on February 25, 2026. The final examination for Class 5 students will take place on February 26, 2026. This day will include Social Science and language-based papers, including Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, and Sanskrit, as applicable.

MP Board Class 8 Time Table 2026 Details

The Class 8 examination schedule will also begin on February 20, 2026. The first language paper will be conducted on this day. Students can appear for Sanskrit, regional language, Hindi, English, or Marathi papers, depending on their subject selection.

The second language examination is scheduled for February 21, 2026. This will include Sanskrit, Hindi, English, and regional language subjects. The third language examination will be conducted on February 23, 2026.

The mathematics paper for Class 8 students will be held on February 25, 2026. Social Science examination is scheduled for February 26, 2026. The final paper, Science, will be conducted on February 28, 2026.

Practical Exams Between February and March

Schools across Madhya Pradesh have been instructed to conduct practical examinations separately. These practical exams will be held between February 10 and March 10, 2026. The responsibility of organizing practical assessments lies with individual schools under board guidelines.

School authorities have been advised to complete internal assessments on time. Marks from practical examinations will be included in the final evaluation process.

Large Number of Students Expected to Appear

Officials estimate that more than 24 lakh students may appear for the Class 5 and Class 8 board examinations combined. This includes students from government, aided, and private schools across Madhya Pradesh. Special arrangements are being planned to ensure fair and smooth examinations.

Examination centers will be monitored closely. Adequate invigilation and security measures will be put in place. Authorities aim to prevent any irregularities during the examination process.

Instructions for Students and Parents

Students are advised to follow the official timetable strictly. They should reach examination centers well before reporting time. Carrying admit cards and necessary stationery will be mandatory. Parents have been urged to support students during preparation and ensure punctuality.

The board has also advised students to focus on syllabus-based preparation. Question papers will be based on SCERT and NCERT curriculum. No out-of-syllabus questions will be included.

Importance of Early Preparation

Education experts believe that the early release of the date sheet gives students enough time to plan studies. Revision schedules can now be structured subject-wise. Teachers are expected to guide students with mock tests and revision classes.

Schools are also likely to conduct pre-board assessments to help students gain confidence. Counseling sessions may be arranged to reduce exam-related stress.

The release of the MP Board Class 5 and Class 8 Date Sheet 2026 marks an important step in the academic calendar. With exams beginning from February 26, students now have a clear roadmap ahead. Proper planning, timely revision, and adherence to guidelines will play a crucial role in performance. The coming months will be important for students as they prepare for these key assessments.
