Bihar Board Announces DElEd Entrance 2026-28 Notification

Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has released the official notification for the Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) entrance exam for the academic session 2026-28. Aspiring candidates can now apply online from December 11 to December 24, 2025, through the official website bsebdeled.com. This exam presents a significant opportunity for those aspiring to become teachers in Bihar, as successful candidates will gain admission to 306 DElEd colleges across the state.

Eligibility Criteria for DElEd Admission

To be eligible for the DElEd program, candidates must have completed their 12th grade (Intermediate) with a minimum of 50% marks. However, candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, EBC, and PwD categories will be granted a 5% relaxation in the required percentage. The same eligibility criteria apply to candidates who have passed the Maulvi examination. After successfully clearing the exam, candidates will be assigned colleges based on their ranks and merit.

Career Opportunities After Completing DElEd

Once candidates complete the DElEd course, they will be eligible to become teachers for classes 1 to 8 in Bihar. However, before being appointed as permanent teachers, they must pass two additional examinations:

  • The STET (State Teacher Eligibility Test) or CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) exam

  • The BPSC (Bihar Public Service Commission) Teacher Recruitment Exam

Only after passing these exams will candidates be eligible for permanent teaching positions in Bihar government schools.
