BJP Celebrates with Traditional Bihari Dishes as Vote Counting Begins in Bihar

Published on

As the vote counting for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections commenced on Thursday morning, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appeared confident in its performance. At the party’s Delhi headquarters, staff were seen preparing for celebrations, featuring a variety of traditional Bihari dishes. The menu included classic delicacies such as jalebi for dessert, sattu paratha, baingan chokha, and litti chokha, signaling the party’s optimism regarding its prospects in the election.

BJP’s Confidence in a Strong NDA Victory

Nitin Nabin, a BJP candidate and Bihar minister, expressed confidence in the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) success. He stated that the NDA would secure a victory similar to the 2010 elections, aiming to surpass 200 seats. “We are all confident that the NDA will perform like it did in 2010. We will form the government and win more than 200 seats,” Nabin told the media. His statement was part of a larger display of certainty by the BJP regarding its anticipated strong performance in the election.

Nabin also criticized the opposition, particularly the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), calling it a party stuck in the “jungle raj” mentality. He suggested that the RJD had failed to evolve and was still operating within a framework of old politics that didn’t resonate with Bihar’s voters today.

Candidates and Voting Trends in Bihar

Nitin Nabin is contesting for a fourth term from the Bankipur Assembly seat in Patna district. He is facing Rekha Kumar from the RJD and Vandana Kumari from Jan Suraaj, a party making its electoral debut. The counting of votes is taking place across all 243 constituencies in Bihar, with security measures tightened at counting centers, particularly in Patna, Gaya, and other major districts.

This year’s election has already seen a record voter turnout. The second phase of the election recorded 69.20% voter participation, the highest in Bihar’s electoral history. The overall turnout across both phases of the election stood at 67.13%, marking the highest turnout since 1951. The first phase had registered 65.06% voter participation, as per data from the Election Commission.

BJP’s Optimism Amid Election Results

While the final results are still being counted, the BJP’s preparations reflect a strong belief in a favorable outcome. The celebration of traditional Bihari food at the party headquarters was a clear indication of the party’s confidence in the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) victory. With the vote counting still ongoing, the mood at the BJP headquarters remains hopeful and celebratory, as they await the final confirmation of the results.

The atmosphere at the BJP office highlights the high stakes of the Bihar elections and the party’s strategy to make sure their supporters are ready for victory celebrations, should the results align with their expectations. With an anticipated strong performance, the BJP is aiming for another term in power in Bihar, after what they believe will be a resounding victory for the NDA.
