Cold Wave to Persist in Eastern Rajasthan and Western Madhya Pradesh Until November 10

Published on

As the weather in India rapidly shifts, a cold wave continues to grip parts of the country, especially in eastern Rajasthan and western Madhya Pradesh. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for these regions, with temperatures expected to stay lower than usual over the next few days. Additionally, several parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana have been experiencing nighttime temperatures that are significantly below normal.

Weather Changes and Low Temperatures Expected Across Northern India

The latest weather reports indicate that the cold wave is likely to persist from November 9 to November 10, especially in eastern Rajasthan and western Madhya Pradesh. According to the IMD, the night temperatures in these areas will remain below 10 degrees Celsius and 4 to 7 degrees lower than the usual seasonal averages. Other parts of India, including Delhi, eastern Madhya Pradesh, western Rajasthan, north Maharashtra, and western Uttar Pradesh, are also witnessing a drop in nighttime temperatures, which are currently 2 to 4 degrees lower than normal.

Delhi Experiences Coldest Night So Far This Season

Delhi, the national capital, has been experiencing colder than usual temperatures. The minimum temperature recorded in the city reached 11 degrees Celsius, making it the coldest night of the season so far. This temperature is 3.3 degrees lower than the normal for this time of year. The IMD attributes this drop in temperature to cold winds from the western Himalayas after recent snowfall. Additionally, clear skies during the night led to an increase in radiation cooling, contributing to the cold weather.

In addition to the cold temperatures, the IMD has forecasted light fog for Sunday morning, with maximum temperatures expected to reach around 28 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will hover near 11 degrees Celsius.

Cold Wave and Reduced Temperatures in West Bengal

In the eastern region, West Bengal is also set to experience a drop in minimum temperatures over the next few days. According to the IMD, the minimum temperatures in the state will decrease by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius during the next four days. The weather will remain dry throughout the state, with the possibility of light to moderate fog in the sub-Himalayan districts of West Bengal on Sunday morning.

The IMD has stated that there will be no significant change in the weather over the next three days. The minimum temperature recorded in Kolkata on Sunday was 21.6 degrees Celsius, but it is expected to dip to around 20 degrees Celsius by the morning. These cooler temperatures are consistent with the ongoing cold wave that has affected many northern and central regions of the country.

Tamil Nadu and Kerala to Experience Rainfall

Meanwhile, the IMD has also issued a weather advisory for southern parts of India. A trough line extending from the Bay of Bengal to Kerala is influencing the weather in the southern region. This system is expected to bring light to moderate rainfall in Tamil Nadu between November 9 and November 13, with occasional heavy showers in some areas. Thunderstorms with lightning are also expected in parts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, particularly on Sunday.

In Kerala, the weather conditions will remain similar to those of the previous days, with the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning until November 10. The IMD has warned that the state may experience increased thunderstorm activity, especially in the later hours of the day.

Significant Drop in Temperatures in Central India

In central India, particularly in parts of Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh, the IMD has forecasted a significant drop in minimum temperatures over the next two days. The mercury is expected to decrease by about 2 degrees Celsius, adding to the overall chill across the region. These cooler temperatures are a result of the prevailing weather patterns, including the influence of the ongoing cold wave from the northwest.

As the cold wave continues to affect parts of North-Western and Central India, the IMD has predicted that temperatures will remain lower than normal for the next 6 to 7 days. In these regions, nighttime temperatures are expected to stay 2 to 5 degrees below the seasonal average. These changes in weather are a result of the continuous circulation of cold air from the northern Himalayan regions and the ongoing weather systems affecting various parts of the country.

Forecast for the Next Few Days

Looking ahead, the IMD predicts that the cold wave will persist in several regions of North-Western and Central India until November 10. The combination of clear skies, radiation cooling, and the effects of the western disturbances has led to a steady drop in temperatures in various parts of the country. Over the next few days, the weather in these regions is likely to remain cool, with minimum temperatures consistently below normal.

With the onset of the cold wave, the IMD has advised residents of affected areas to take necessary precautions to stay warm and avoid prolonged exposure to the cold, especially during the night. The department has also recommended that people keep an eye on weather advisories for any updates, as conditions could change depending on the evolving weather patterns.

the current weather in India is experiencing significant changes, with colder conditions affecting many parts of the country. The ongoing cold wave is expected to persist for several more days, with temperatures staying below normal in many regions. As the IMD continues to monitor these developments, it is important for residents in the affected areas to stay informed and take appropriate measures to stay safe during this chilly weather spell.
