UP Home Guard Recruitment 2025: Registration, Eligibility, and Important Details

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has been entrusted with the responsibility of recruiting over 45,000 Home Guard personnel for the state. This major recruitment drive will provide employment opportunities to candidates who have completed their 10th grade. The official registration process for this recruitment will begin on July 1st, 2025, offering ample time for applicants to submit their applications.

The recruitment process will follow a structured approach similar to the UP Police Constable recruitment. Applicants will undergo various rounds of selection, including a written examination, physical standards test, document verification, and physical efficiency test. Successful candidates will be included in the final selection list based on their performance in these stages.

Eligibility Criteria for UP Home Guard Recruitment

To apply for the UP Home Guard recruitment, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Age Limit: Applicants must be between 18 to 30 years of age.

  2. Educational Qualification: The minimum educational qualification required is the completion of the 10th grade (High School). Initially, there were talks of requiring a 12th-grade qualification, but it has now been finalized as 10th grade.

  3. Physical Standards: Candidates must meet specific physical standards, including height and chest measurements. For men, the height should be at least 168 cm, while for women, it should be 152 cm. Men’s chest should measure at least 79 cm without expansion and 84 cm with expansion. Women should weigh a minimum of 40 kg.

  4. Domicile: Applicants must be residents of the district for which they are applying. The recruitment process is district-specific, and candidates can only apply for the district they are originally from.

Registration Process and Important Dates

The registration for UP Home Guard vacancies will begin on July 1st, 2025. The process will be carried out online, and candidates will need to register through the official UP Police Recruitment Board portal. Each district will provide detailed information about the number of available vacancies, and the district’s Home Guard Commandant will manage the registration process.

Candidates must submit their educational certificates, including the mark sheets, along with their applications. The selection will be based on the vacancies available in each district, with the reservation quota being taken into account during the calculation of the vacancies.

Important Instructions for Applicants

  1. Residency Requirement: Only candidates who are native to the district for which they are applying will be eligible for registration.

  2. Previous Employment: Individuals currently employed in any public sector or government services are not eligible to apply. Those who have been dismissed from a corporation or any municipal body are also not eligible.

  3. Criminal Record: Candidates with pending criminal cases in any court are ineligible to apply.

  4. Marital Status: Applicants with more than one spouse are not eligible for registration.

Physical Test Details

The physical test is an essential part of the UP Home Guard recruitment process. The physical standards for the test include running distances and time limits:

  • For Men: Candidates must complete a 4.8 km run within 25 minutes.

  • For Women: Female candidates must complete a 2.4 km run in 14 minutes.

In addition to the running test, there are specific requirements for height, weight, and chest measurements, as mentioned above.

Additional Marks and Preferences

Certain qualifications and certifications can earn candidates additional marks. The following are some key details regarding these extra marks:

  • NCC (National Cadet Corps):

    • C Certificate Holders: 03 additional marks.

    • B Certificate Holders: 02 additional marks.

    • A Certificate Holders: 01 additional mark.

  • Scouts and Guides:

    • Candidates holding a certificate from the Bharat Scouts and Guides will receive 01 additional mark.

  • Youth Red Cross Society’s Disaster Friend Training:

    • Candidates who have participated in “Disaster Friend Training” under the Youth Red Cross Society will receive 03 additional marks.

  • Valid Four-Wheeler Driving License:

    • Candidates possessing a valid four-wheeler driving license will earn 01 additional mark.

Tie-Breaker Criteria

In cases where two or more candidates have the same score, the following criteria will be applied to determine the preference:

  • Age Factor: The older candidate will be given preference.

  • Alphabetical Order: If the candidates’ ages are also the same, their names will be ranked based on the alphabetical order of their names as mentioned in their high school certificates.

No Waiting List

It is important to note that the UP Home Guard recruitment will not maintain a waiting list. Therefore, candidates who do not make it to the final selection list will not be considered for future vacancies.
