Amit Shah Sets Ambitious Target for Bihar Assembly Elections, Targets 160+ Seats

Published on

In a recent address to BJP workers at the Farbisganj airstrip ground in Araria, Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah made bold statements regarding the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. Shah, often referred to as the “Chanakya” of the BJP, emphasized the party’s goal of securing a two-thirds majority in Bihar. He set an ambitious target of winning 160+ seats in the 2025 elections. His speech highlighted the BJP’s strategy for victory and addressed key issues such as infiltrators, local governance, and national development.

Four Diwalis for Bihar in 2025

Amit Shah, in his address, used the metaphor of “four Diwalis” to symbolize the upcoming political shifts in Bihar. He explained that Bihar would celebrate four Diwalis for various significant reasons, all tied to BJP’s promises for the state. According to Shah, the first Diwali would celebrate Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhya after completing his exile. The second Diwali would be for the 75 lakh women in Bihar who received financial assistance of ₹10,000 each for employment under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The third Diwali would commemorate the improvements in GST rates, which have led to price reductions in over 395 goods. Lastly, the fourth Diwali would celebrate the victory of NDA-BJP in Bihar, with the alliance securing over 160 seats and forming a government.

Shah went further to add that once the NDA government with a two-thirds majority was formed in Bihar, the BJP would work tirelessly to remove all infiltrators from the state. He stressed that the upcoming Diwali would focus on purchasing indigenous goods to strengthen the local economy and promote “Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

Attacks on Political Rivals

Amit Shah didn’t hold back in criticizing opposition leaders, particularly Congress’ Rahul Gandhi and RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav. Shah accused the opposition of enabling infiltrators by pushing for voting rights for them. He emphasized that the BJP would not allow this to happen. Shah claimed that the opposition leaders were attempting to protect the interests of these infiltrators, a stance that the BJP would resolutely oppose. He also highlighted the corruption within Bihar’s ruling party, led by Lalu Yadav and his family, accusing them of looting the state and engaging in various scams. Shah pointed out that despite all these accusations, no corruption charges could ever be leveled against Narendra Modi’s government in the past 11 years.

Shah also referred to the political support provided by the opposition to infiltrators, accusing them of not prioritizing the welfare of the local population. He declared that the BJP would never support the idea of granting voting rights to infiltrators, drawing a clear line between the BJP and its political rivals.

2020 Election Success and Plans for Kishanganj

Shah looked back at the 2020 Bihar assembly elections, where the NDA had a good showing in most of the Seemanchal districts, excluding Kishanganj. He remarked that the BJP-led NDA alliance had emerged as the number one alliance in the region. However, he mentioned that the results in Kishanganj were not up to expectations, and in 2025, the BJP’s focus would be on rectifying this and securing the seat. According to Shah, for the opposition, the 2025 elections were all about making Tejashwi Yadav the Chief Minister of Bihar. However, for the BJP and NDA, this election was critical for removing infiltrators from the state and securing the future of Bihar.

Shah also referred to the floods in the Kosi region, promising that if the NDA were to win, they would work on permanently solving the issue of floods in the area. He highlighted that the BJP’s commitment to Bihar was to free the state from political mismanagement and corruption.

Political Accountability and BJP’s Vision for Bihar

During his speech, Shah emphasized that the BJP’s vision for Bihar was rooted in national and regional development. He criticized the political system in Bihar, which he believed was plagued by corruption and mismanagement under the current leadership. He reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to bringing about change in Bihar by not only addressing corruption but also ensuring the security of its people. He highlighted that the BJP’s efforts in the state would focus on strengthening local governance, improving infrastructure, and tackling the problems of infiltrators and security.

Shah underscored that the BJP would fight the upcoming elections with the aim of restoring the integrity of Bihar’s political system. He urged BJP workers to focus on grassroots outreach and engage in direct dialogue with the public, stressing the importance of communicating the party’s vision for Bihar effectively. Shah’s call to action was clear—BJP workers should be dedicated to the cause of the party and the people of Bihar, ensuring that the state moves towards progress and prosperity.

Infiltrators, National Security, and BJP’s Policy

A central issue raised by Amit Shah was the question of infiltrators in Bihar. Shah referred to infiltrators as a major concern for the state, suggesting that they were a threat to national security and the integrity of the local population. He made it clear that once the BJP assumed power in Bihar, they would prioritize the identification and removal of infiltrators, a policy he claimed was crucial for the safety and prosperity of the state. According to Shah, the presence of infiltrators in the state undermines the rights of law-abiding citizens, and the NDA government would not tolerate their presence in the state.

He also discussed the broader issue of national security and emphasized the BJP’s stance on protecting India’s borders. Shah remarked that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India had made significant progress in securing its borders and ensuring that infiltrators did not gain a foothold within the country. This, he argued, was a critical aspect of the BJP’s vision for a safe and secure India.

The Role of Women in Bihar’s Development

One of the key points Shah raised in his speech was the importance of empowering women in Bihar. He praised the efforts of the Modi government in providing financial aid to 75 lakh women in the state, ensuring that they had access to employment opportunities and financial independence. He emphasized that women’s empowerment was at the heart of the BJP’s development agenda for Bihar, and it would remain a central theme in the party’s plans for the state.

Shah urged the people of Bihar to recognize the positive changes brought about by the Modi government and to support the BJP in the upcoming elections to continue this momentum. He called on women to become active participants in the political process, reminding them of the role they could play in shaping the future of Bihar.

In conclusion, Amit Shah’s speech was a direct call to action for BJP workers in Bihar. He urged them to work hard to ensure that the NDA won a decisive victory in the 2025 assembly elections. Shah’s vision for Bihar was clear—a state free of corruption, with secure borders, a strong local economy, and a government that prioritizes the welfare of its people. He made it clear that the upcoming elections were not just about winning seats, but about ensuring a prosperous and secure future for Bihar. With his speech, Shah set the stage for the BJP’s campaign in Bihar, with a focus on national security, women’s empowerment, and removing infiltrators from the state. The party’s goal was clear: to secure over 160 seats and form a government with a two-thirds majority, bringing lasting change to Bihar.
