Bigg Boss 19 Contestant Ashnoor Kaur Recalls Tough Childhood Shooting Schedules

Published on

Ashnoor Kaur, currently seen in Salman Khan’s reality show Bigg Boss 19, recently opened up about her early years as a child actor. In a candid interview, she revealed how demanding the television industry was for child artists, recalling instances when she had to work for more than a full day without proper rest.

Ashnoor, who started her career at the age of four with the serial Jhansi Ki Rani, shared that the absence of clear regulations on working hours made life extremely challenging for young actors. She explained that back then, the production houses decided the length of shoots, and as a result, she often worked under exhausting schedules.

Beginning Her Career at Just Four

Ashnoor entered the television industry at the tender age of four, playing the role of Prachi in Jhansi Ki Rani. The show gave her a start that eventually led to multiple roles in mythological and family dramas.

Her early success meant that she was in high demand, but it also meant long hours of work without proper breaks. Unlike today, when working hours for minors are somewhat regulated, back then the lack of rules made shooting schedules extremely harsh.

Working 30 Hours Straight at Age Six

In her interview with Hutterfly, Ashnoor shared one of the most difficult experiences from her childhood. At the age of six, while working on the serial Shobha Somnath Ki, she was made to work continuously for 30 hours.

The young actress recalled that her body eventually gave up, and she felt incapable of continuing the shoot. Seeing her struggle, her mother asked her to rest inside the vanity van. During that time, the entire production team waited outside until she woke up and was ready to return to the set.

Ashnoor admitted that such incidents took a toll on her health, but as a child artist, she had little choice but to continue. She emphasized that these experiences highlight the urgent need for better regulations in the industry.

Debate Over Long Working Hours in Television

The issue of extended working hours in the television industry has been a matter of debate for years. Ashnoor pointed out that after several years in the industry, she could finally demand a fixed 12-hour shift, but such a right was not available during her early years.

She is not the only actor to have spoken about such challenges. Veteran television star Shweta Tiwari once revealed that she worked non-stop for 72 hours for a shoot. Similarly, well-known actors like Hiten Tejwani and Rubina Dilaik have also voiced concerns over the demanding nature of television work.

Bigg Boss 19 Journey

Ashnoor, who became a household name after playing Naira in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, is now receiving positive feedback for her stint in Bigg Boss 19. Fans are appreciating her authenticity and the way she has been opening up about her life experiences inside the house.

Her revelations about the struggles she faced as a child artist have resonated with viewers, many of whom admire her resilience and growth in the industry.

A Call for Change in the Industry

Ashnoor’s story is a reflection of the larger issue faced by many actors in Indian television. Long shooting hours, unpredictable schedules, and lack of rest often affect not only children but also established actors. While some improvements have been made over the years, her experience highlights that much more still needs to be done to protect performers.

By speaking about her struggles on a public platform, Ashnoor has drawn attention to a problem that has persisted for decades. Her journey shows how determination and family support can help an artist endure such challenges, but it also calls for reforms to ensure no other child goes through the same.

Ashnoor Kaur’s revelation about working 30 hours straight at the age of six is a stark reminder of the pressures faced by child actors in the television industry. Starting her career with Jhansi Ki Rani, she went on to appear in numerous shows, but behind her success lay immense struggle.

As a contestant on Bigg Boss 19, her candidness has struck a chord with audiences. Along with her personal journey, her story underlines the need for better regulations in the entertainment world. The appreciation she is receiving today is not just for her performances, but also for her courage to share the reality of her past.
