PM Modi’s Visit to Motihari: Launches New Development Projects, Promises a Better Bihar

Published on

On July 18, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bihar, addressing a large public gathering in Motihari. During his visit, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects worth over Rs. 7200 crores. These projects span across various sectors, including railways, roads, rural development, fisheries, and information technology.

In his speech, PM Modi emphasized the progress and future development of Bihar, highlighting the achievements of both the BJP and Nitish Kumar’s leadership. He firmly stated that the state would be shielded from the politics of backwardness and division, and instead, the focus would be on building a prosperous Bihar.

PM Modi’s Vision for a Progressive Bihar

During the event, PM Modi condemned those who engage in politics of backwardness and exploitation without showing respect for others. He expressed that such individuals should be kept away from the future of Bihar. He also mentioned the hard work of both the BJP and Nitish Kumar in improving the state’s infrastructure. Referring to figures like Chandramohan Rai, he emphasized the need for guidance from such leaders to work together and create a brighter future for Bihar.

Modi introduced a new slogan at the event, saying, “We will make a new Bihar, and bring back an NDA government.” His words resonated with the crowd, as he focused on the achievements of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government.

Commitment to Inclusivity and Development

PM Modi spoke about the government’s commitment to inclusive development, specifically highlighting those who have been neglected for years. He pointed out that people once labeled as “backward” are now at the forefront of his government’s priorities. Modi made it clear that his administration has always focused on the development of marginalized and remote villages. He referenced a village that was once considered isolated and underdeveloped, which is now a model village, showcasing the success of his government’s initiatives.

He also addressed the demands of the Other Backward Classes (OBCs), noting that for decades, this community had been asking for constitutional recognition. The NDA government, he added, has listened to these demands and implemented policies for the upliftment of OBCs. Modi further elaborated on the government’s efforts through initiatives like the Janman Scheme, which has specifically benefitted the backward sections of society.

Focus on Bihar’s Natural Resources and Economic Potential

PM Modi acknowledged Bihar’s abundant resources and capabilities, stating that the state does not lack in either area. He highlighted the increasing prices of Makhana (fox nuts) and how it has benefited farmers in the region. Modi also noted the state’s significant agricultural products, including Magahi Paan (betel leaf), litchis, mangoes, and Katarni rice, which will now be connected to global markets, bringing economic benefits to the state’s farmers and producers.

Modi further explained that the NDA government’s efforts to boost Bihar’s agricultural products would ensure that these local goods are not only in demand within India but are also available in international markets. This will help generate income for local farmers and improve their livelihoods.

Affordable Housing for the Poor

One of the major highlights of PM Modi’s speech was his mention of the PM Awas Yojana, under which the government has constructed over 4 crore homes for the poor across the country in the last 11 years. He specifically noted that nearly 60 lakh of these homes were built in Bihar alone. In Motihari district, around 3 lakh families have received permanent homes, and the number continues to grow steadily.

This scheme has proven to be a game-changer for many families in Bihar, providing them with much-needed housing. Modi’s government has emphasized the importance of shelter for the poor, aiming to provide a dignified living standard to every citizen, especially in rural and backward areas.

Development Projects in Bihar

Prime Minister Modi also discussed the significant development projects that have been launched in Bihar under the current administration. The government has focused on enhancing infrastructure in the state, particularly in areas such as transportation, rural development, and technology. The inauguration and foundation-laying of over Rs. 7200 crore worth of projects will help to further modernize Bihar’s economy and infrastructure.

These projects will not only improve the state’s roads and railways but will also boost the fisheries sector and promote information technology in rural areas. By connecting more villages with better roads, the government hopes to create greater economic opportunities for the people of Bihar.

Building a Stronger and More Prosperous Bihar

PM Modi reiterated his commitment to the people of Bihar and his vision for a state that is self-reliant, economically strong, and socially inclusive. He emphasized that the government’s policies have always aimed at empowering the poor and the marginalized sections of society. According to Modi, the NDA government is determined to take Bihar to new heights of development, ensuring that every citizen has access to better living conditions, education, and healthcare.

Modi expressed confidence that with continued efforts, Bihar would become a shining example of progress and prosperity in India. He urged the people of Bihar to support the NDA government in its mission to create a brighter future for the state.

Political Reforms and Future Challenges

PM Modi’s speech also touched on the political landscape of Bihar. He spoke about the need to move away from politics that divides people based on caste and backwardness. He suggested that the state needed a government that focused on inclusive development, bringing all communities together for the progress of Bihar. Modi’s remarks resonated with many in the audience who seek a change in the political leadership of the state.

While the state has made significant strides in the last few years, Modi acknowledged that there are still challenges to overcome. He stressed the importance of working together as a unified state and supporting the development agenda set by the NDA government.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Motihari was an important moment for the state of Bihar. His address highlighted the vision for the state’s future and the progress that has been made under the NDA government. From launching key development projects to emphasizing inclusive growth, Modi’s speech left a lasting impression on the people of Bihar.

The development projects, particularly in rural areas, are set to transform the state’s economy, improve infrastructure, and create new opportunities for farmers and businesses. The focus on affordable housing and improved living standards for the poor is a key part of the government’s agenda for Bihar.

As Bihar moves forward, PM Modi’s vision of a “new Bihar” under the NDA government continues to inspire hope for a better, more prosperous future. With the support of the people and the continued efforts of the government, Bihar is poised for a transformative journey in the coming years.
