Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, has confirmed that the state will soon initiate the fourth phase of teacher recruitment (BPSC TRE 4.0). The official notification for this recruitment will be issued after the vacancies are calculated by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). This recruitment is expected to fill around 1.2 lakh teacher positions, with 35% of the total vacancies reserved for women.

According to the tweet, the Chief Minister stated, “We have directed the Education Department to immediately calculate the vacancies in government schools. Afterward, the recruitment process for TRE 4.0 will begin. The state government has also clarified that 35% of the vacancies will be reserved for women, exclusively for Bihar resident women.”

This move is expected to boost the number of female teachers in the state’s schools, supporting gender inclusivity in the education sector.

BPSC to Release the Official Notification for TRE 4.0

Following the Chief Minister’s instructions, the Education Department will soon finalize the calculation of vacancies in government schools. Once the vacancy details are compiled, they will be sent to the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). The BPSC will then release the official notification for TRE 4.0 recruitment and start accepting applications from eligible candidates.

The recruitment is expected to fill up to 1.2 lakh positions. It includes positions from the TRE 3.0 phase, where about 20,000 positions remained vacant, adding to the 1 lakh positions that were initially part of the TRE 4.0 recruitment. This brings the total expected vacancies to 1.2 lakh.

Bihar’s Teacher Recruitment Process: A Snapshot of Past Phases

As of now, three phases of the BPSC TRE recruitment have been completed successfully. In TRE 1, 1.7 lakh positions were filled, followed by 70,000 positions in TRE 2. In TRE 3, a total of 87,774 positions were made available, out of which 66,603 positions were filled. However, 20,000 vacancies remained unfilled from TRE 3.

Now, the upcoming TRE 4.0 will aim to fill the remaining vacancies from TRE 3 along with the 1 lakh new positions for teachers. Once the final vacancy calculation is completed, the BPSC will begin the recruitment process, with detailed instructions and guidelines provided in the official notification.
