Motorola is all set to launch its highly anticipated Moto G96 5G in India on July 9, 2025. Ahead of its official unveiling, the device’s complete specifications, features, and colour options have been confirmed. Listed on Motorola India’s website, the details about this next-generation device are now fully available, and here’s what you can expect from the Moto G96 5G when it debuts.

Moto G96 5G: Full Specifications and Features

The Moto G96 5G is designed to provide a premium experience, offering high-end features at an affordable price point. Let’s take a deeper look at the confirmed specifications and features of the Moto G96 5G.

Display and Design

The Moto G96 5G will feature a 6.67-inch P-OLED display with a curved-edge design, offering a Full HD+ resolution for a clear and vibrant viewing experience. The screen is designed to deliver a 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth and fluid interactions, especially when gaming or scrolling through content. The device also boasts a peak brightness of 1600 nits, which will make it highly legible even in bright sunlight.

The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, ensuring enhanced durability and resistance to scratches. Additionally, it comes equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor, providing an easy and secure way to unlock the phone.

Performance and Storage

Under the hood, the Moto G96 5G will be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor. This chipset is expected to deliver smooth performance and efficient power usage for daily tasks and moderate gaming. The device will be equipped with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM to handle multitasking with ease.

For storage, the Moto G96 5G will offer options of 128GB and 256GB internal storage, utilizing UFS 2.2 technology for fast data transfer speeds. The phone will also feature expandable storage through a microSD card slot, providing users with additional space for apps, photos, and videos.

Camera Setup

The camera setup on the Moto G96 5G is designed to cater to photography enthusiasts. On the front, it will feature a 32MP camera, perfect for high-resolution selfies and video calls. On the rear, the device will sport a dual-camera setup. The primary sensor will be a 50MP Sony LYT-700C sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), ensuring clear and stable shots, even in low-light conditions. The secondary camera will be an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, which can also be used as a macro camera for close-up shots.

With these camera capabilities, the Moto G96 5G is expected to provide excellent image quality, from selfies to landscapes to detailed close-ups.

Battery and Charging

The Moto G96 5G will be powered by a 5,500mAh battery, ensuring long-lasting usage throughout the day. For charging, it will support 68W wired fast charging, enabling the device to charge quickly. However, there is no information on wireless charging capabilities at this point. Given the expected price range around ₹20,000, it seems unlikely that wireless charging will be included.

Operating System and Software

The device will run on Android 15, with a clean and bloatware-free interface, offering an optimized experience. Motorola has promised one major OS update and three years of security patches, ensuring that the Moto G96 5G will remain secure and up-to-date for an extended period.

Additionally, the phone will feature Dolby Atmos-enabled dual speakers, which will enhance the audio experience for music, movies, and gaming. It will also include Wi-Fi 6 for faster wireless internet speeds and Bluetooth 5.2 for improved connectivity.

IP Rating and Durability

The Moto G96 5G is confirmed to have an IP68 rating, making it resistant to both dust and water. This means the phone can withstand submersion at depths of up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes, offering peace of mind for those who use their phone in challenging environments.

Moto G96 5G: Colour Options and Variants

Motorola has also revealed the colour options and variants for the Moto G96 5G. The phone will be available in four attractive colours:

  • Dresden Blue

  • Ashleigh Blue

  • Cattleya Orchid

  • Greener Pasture

These colours will cater to a wide range of tastes, allowing users to choose a device that suits their personal style. The Moto G96 5G will be available in two storage configurations:

  • 8GB RAM with 128GB storage

  • 8GB RAM with 256GB storage

The device will be exclusively available for purchase on Flipkart, making it accessible to a large number of consumers across India.

Pricing and Availability

The Moto G96 5G is expected to be priced around ₹20,000, making it an affordable yet feature-packed option for those looking for a 5G smartphone with high-end features. Given its specifications, including the 144Hz display, 50MP camera, and 68W fast charging, the Moto G96 5G is expected to compete with other smartphones in the budget and mid-range segment.

The Moto G96 5G brings together a range of exciting features at an affordable price. With its powerful Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, a stunning 6.67-inch P-OLED display, impressive 50MP camera, and 68W fast charging, the device is poised to offer excellent value for money. The IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and the Android 15 software further add to its appeal, making it a comprehensive package for anyone looking to upgrade their smartphone experience without breaking the bank.

With Motorola’s reputation for offering solid devices at competitive prices, the Moto G96 5G is set to make a significant impact in the Indian market. Keep an eye out for the official launch on July 9, 2025, as this device could soon become one of the top choices in the budget 5G smartphone category.
