KKN Gurugram Desk | In a significant development from Muzaffarpur, Bihar, notorious criminal Ajit Rai was shot dead on Friday night while visiting his girlfriend’s rented apartment in the Doctors Colony area near SKMCH. The incident occurred around 8:30 PM in the jurisdiction of Ahiyapur police station. Rai, a history-sheeter with multiple criminal cases against him, was reportedly alone in the apartment when unidentified assailants entered and shot him multiple times, leading to his death on the spot.

Ajit Rai hailed from Gausnagar Guradah village in the Mahindwara police station area of Sitamarhi district. He had a long-standing criminal record, with cases registered in Jharkhand and various districts of North Bihar, including charges of robbery, extortion, and bomb attacks. Rai was also associated with the infamous Chunnu Thakur gang and had been involved in several high-profile criminal activities. Due to fear of police surveillance, he preferred to live under the radar in rented accommodations.
