PM Modi Hails ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a Symbol of New India’s Resolve Against Terror

Published on

KKN Gurugram Desk |  In the 122nd episode of his monthly radio address Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke passionately about Operation Sindoor, hailing it as not just a military mission but a reflection of India’s evolving character and collective resolve against terrorism.

Broadcasted on more than 500 All India Radio stations and translated into 22 Indian and 11 foreign languages, the Prime Minister’s address connected with millions of citizens across the country and abroad.

Operation Sindoor: A Defining Moment in India’s Anti-Terror Campaign

PM Modi described Operation Sindoor as a decisive response to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, calling it a mission that has raised the morale of every Indian.

“The bravery shown by our armed forces has made every Indian’s head rise with pride,” the Prime Minister said.

The operation was launched on May 7, when Indian forces conducted precision strikes on terrorist infrastructure across the border. These attacks were hailed as a tactical success, showcasing India’s capability to retaliate decisively while minimizing collateral damage.

A Unified Nation Against Terrorism

The Prime Minister emphasized that India today is more united than ever in its commitment to eliminating terrorism.

“From cities to villages, every Indian stands in solidarity with our armed forces. We are angry, but we are determined. We will eliminate terrorism from its roots,” he stated.

This message has resonated deeply with citizens, evident from the massive public support Operation Sindoor has received across the country.

Made-in-India Defense Tech Powers the Mission

One of the highlights of the Prime Minister’s speech was the recognition of India’s indigenous defense capabilities.

He applauded the role of Indian engineers, technicians, and defense manufacturers, stating that the mission was powered not just by courage but by ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’—the vision of a self-reliant India.

“Our soldiers showed unmatched bravery, but equally vital were the Indian-made weapons, equipment, and technologies. This mission belongs to every Indian whose sweat and skill went into making this possible.”

The operation has been viewed as a testament to India’s growing technological edge and a declaration that the nation is no longer dependent on foreign defense imports.

Public Participation: A Wave of Patriotism Across the Nation

Operation Sindoor didn’t just impact strategic and military circles; it ignited a wave of grassroots patriotism.

Across states, from Bihar’s Katihar to UP’s Kushinagar, and in cities, towns, and villages, citizens have responded by holding Tiranga Yatras (tricolor marches), singing patriotic songs, and participating in voluntary defense training initiatives.

“In many parts of the country, people took to the streets waving the tricolor, saluting the spirit of our armed forces. Chandigarh videos of these Tiranga Yatras went viral for a reason—they captured a nation’s gratitude,” Modi noted.

Art, Poetry, and Culture Reflect Operation Sindoor’s Impact

The operation has become deeply embedded in cultural expressions. On social media, thousands of Indians are writing poetry, creating songs of resolve, and making artwork dedicated to the military campaign.

During his recent visit to Bikaner, the Prime Minister received a painting from a child that depicted the mission’s theme.

“Even young children understand the value of sacrifice and patriotism. That’s the impact Operation Sindoor has made,” he shared.

Naming Children After the Operation: A New Legacy Begins

In a striking cultural shift, several families across India have named their newborns “Sindoor”—inspired by the operation and the values it symbolizes.

This act is being seen as a generational commitment to national service, where families are choosing to instill patriotism in the very names of their children.

“This shows how deeply this mission has touched people’s hearts. Operation Sindoor is no longer just a mission; it has become part of our lives,” the Prime Minister said.

A National Broadcast That Keeps Evolving

Mann Ki Baat, which began on October 3, 2014, continues to serve as a bridge between the Prime Minister and citizens. Now in its 122nd edition, the program is aired in 22 Indian languages29 dialects, and 11 foreign languages, including Arabic, French, Chinese, Dari, and Swahili.

The goal of the show remains consistent: to inform, inspire, and mobilize public sentiment around issues of national importance.

Operation Sindoor: The Tactical Front

Launched in response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Operation Sindoor involved targeted airstrikes on terrorist launchpads and infrastructure in territories beyond India’s borders.

According to defense sources:

  • The Indian Air Force conducted deep penetration strikes.

  • Key targets included terrorist training campsweapons depots, and command centers.

  • Multiple radar installations and a major Pakistani military base sustained significant damage during May 8–10, when retaliatory action from Pakistan was swiftly neutralized by Indian defenses.

This operation demonstrated India’s readiness to preempt threats and maintain a strong deterrent posture in South Asia.

Global Reactions and Geopolitical Impact

Internationally, Operation Sindoor has drawn a mix of reactions:

  • United States and France supported India’s right to self-defense.

  • China urged restraint from both sides but acknowledged India’s security concerns.

  • Pakistan, however, denied any provocation and has downplayed the damage despite satellite evidence.

Analysts say Operation Sindoor signals a paradigm shift in India’s security doctrine, moving away from reactive strategies to a preventive, precise, and assertive approach.

A Message of Strength and Sovereignty

Through his address, PM Modi underlined that India’s military strength is not just about technology or strategy—but about valuescourage, and national unity.

“Operation Sindoor is not only a military operation. It represents our resolve, our courage, and the changing face of New India,” he declared.

As India continues to confront evolving security challenges, Operation Sindoor stands as a defining moment in its modern military history. The overwhelming public support and cultural embrace of the mission reveal a nation in transformation—one that no longer tolerates terrorism and boldly charts its own path forward.

PM Modi’s Mann Ki Baat has once again served as a powerful platform to channel public emotion into national purpose. Through this address, the government has reinforced that national security is a shared responsibility, and every citizen is a stakeholder in India’s future.
