Bihar Home Guard Recruitment 2025: Physical Tests Begin in Patna and 4 Other Districts from Today

KKN Gurugram Desk | The physical efficiency test (PET) for the Bihar Home Guard Recruitment 2025 begins today (Thursday) across five districts, including the state capital Patna. The recruitment process, which aims to fill 15,000 Home Guard positions across Bihar, has now entered its crucial physical evaluation phase.

Today marks the start of district-wise PET in Patna, Buxar, Kaimur, Nawada, and Supaul, with different schedules and venue arrangements set by local authorities.

 Overview: Bihar Home Guard Recruitment Drive 2025

The ongoing recruitment is part of a statewide campaign to strengthen Bihar’s home security infrastructure. The Bihar Home Guard Department has received lakhs of applications from eligible candidates for 15,000 vacancies. The selection process includes:

  • Document verification

  • Physical efficiency test (running, endurance, strength)

  • Medical check-ups

  • Final merit list based on performance and reservation norms

 Patna Sees Highest Number of Vacancies

Among all the participating districts, Patna has received the largest number of applications and also has the highest number of available posts.

  • Venue: Shaheed Rajendra Prasad Singh Govt. High School, Gardanibagh

Buxar

  • Venue: Itadhi Maidan

  • Vacancies: 312

  • Test Duration: May 15 to June 16

  • Buxar authorities have made elaborate arrangements to ensure a smooth testing process, including security, hydration stations, and first aid.

Kaimur

  • Venue: Jagjivan Stadium

  • Vacancies: 241

  • Test Duration: May 15 to June 4

  • Candidates are required to report in physical training attire and bring original ID and admit cards.

Nawada

  • Venue: ITI Ground

  • Vacancies: 361

  • Test Duration: May 15 to June 12

  • A help desk has been set up for resolving any issues related to admit cards or timing.

Supaul

  • Venue: Supaul Stadium

  • Vacancies: 114

  • Test Duration: May 15 to May 28

  • Being a smaller recruitment batch, the tests here will conclude faster compared to other districts.

 Selection Criteria for Bihar Home Guard Posts

The selection for Home Guard posts in Bihar is based on:

  1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Primary round where candidates must complete:

    • 1.6 km run

    • Long jump

    • High jump

  2. Medical Examination – Ensuring fitness standards

  3. Document Verification – Including educational qualifications, ID proofs, and caste certificates

  4. Merit List – Final selection based on performance and reservation policies

 Documents Required at Physical Test Center

Candidates must carry the following:

  • Printed Admit Card

  • Valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, etc.)

  • Passport-size photographs

  • Original documents for verification

  • Medical fitness certificate (optional but recommended)

Candidates are also advised to carry water bottles, energy drinks, and avoid wearing any metallic items during testing.

Security and Safety Arrangements

District administrations have ensured the deployment of:

  • Adequate police personnel for crowd control

  • Medical teams for emergencies

  • Drinking water and sanitation facilities

  • CCTV cameras at main entry points to maintain transparency and prevent misconduct

Authorities have also issued warnings against any malpractice. Any candidate found cheating or misbehaving will be immediately disqualified.

  • Arrive at the test center at least 1 hour before the reporting time

  • Follow all COVID-19 safety protocols (if applicable)

  • Refrain from bringing electronic gadgets or bags

  • Ensure proper warm-up before starting the PET

Following the completion of PETs across all districts, the next phase will include:

The entire recruitment process is expected to conclude by September 2025, and training is tentatively scheduled to begin by October.
