The worst of it has been reported from Madhubani district, where a tragic incident claimed the lives of three people, including a father and his daughter, after being struck by lightning. The incident, which occurred in Rudrapur police station area of Alpura village, has left the community in shock and mourning.

The Incident in Madhubani: Father and Daughter Lose Their Lives

The victims of this tragic lightning strike were 62-year-old Mo Zakir and his 18-year-old daughter Ayesha. The father and daughter were traveling towards a nearby canal in the fields to cover their wheat crops with a tarp. As they reached near the canal, a bolt of lightning struck them, fatally injuring both. The force of the lightning left them severely burnt, and both died on the spot. This devastating event left their family in utter chaos, and their sudden loss has caused deep grief in the village.

Details of the Incident: Impact on the Family

Mo Zakir and Ayesha were residents of Alpura village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Rudrapur police station. On the fateful morning, the weather had already started deteriorating, with thunderstorms and rain hitting the region. As they were heading to cover the wheat stock from the rain, they were caught in an unfortunate storm, with the lightning strike proving fatal. The sudden nature of the incident has not only shocked the immediate family but also the entire community, which is now grappling with the loss of two beloved members.

The family was planning to shield the crops from the bad weather, but tragically, the weather itself took a toll on their lives. The incident has sent waves of sorrow throughout the village, and locals are in a state of disbelief at the suddenness of the event.

Other Casualty in Jhajharpur: Lightning Claims Another Life

In a separate incident, another lightning strike in Jhajharpur block, specifically in Pipraulia village, claimed the life of 45-year-old Durga Devi, the wife of Raman Kumar Mahto. The lightning struck while she was outside her home, and she was instantly killed by the impact. The incident occurred during the storm, as the weather worsened, with widespread lightning and thunder showers affecting the region.

Local authorities, including Mohammad Rezauddin, a Zila Parishad member, reached the spot shortly after the incident and expressed their condolences to the family. Mohammad Rezauddin assured that the affected families would receive all possible government assistance to help them through the tragedy.

Impact of the Storm and Weather Update

The tragic deaths due to lightning strikes highlight the dangerous side effects of the ongoing weather shift in Bihar. As thunderstorms continue to affect various regions, the weather department has issued warnings for additional thunderstorms, lightning, and rain in the coming days.
