In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Tejashwi Yadav accused the BJP-led NDA government of ignoring Bihar’s needs. He asserted that Bihar is being neglected despite requiring urgent economic support and special state status. He also hinted at a political shift in Bihar, declaring that change is inevitable in the state.
Tejashwi Yadav’s Criticism of the NDA Government
In his X post, Tejashwi Yadav questioned the NDA government’s commitment to Bihar’s development. He stated:
“The state that needed the most economic assistance and special status has been ignored once again by the BJP-NDA government in the Union Budget. Will the BJP and its allies continue to overlook Bihar’s voice? The NDA government has ruled Bihar for 20 years and the Center for 11 years. In 2025, they will have to answer, and Bihar will witness a change.”
He further outlined seven crucial areas where he believes the Union Budget 2025 has failed Bihar:
1. No Special Status for Bihar
For years, Bihar has been demanding special category status due to its poor economic indicators and lack of industrial development. However, the Union Budget 2025 once again failed to grant Bihar this status. Tejashwi Yadav emphasized that this neglect has hindered the state’s progress and limited its access to higher financial assistance from the Center.
2. No Job Creation Initiatives
Bihar faces high unemployment rates, with youth migrating to other states in search of work. Despite this, the Union Budget 2025 has no concrete plans for job creation, skill development, or employment generation in Bihar. Tejashwi Yadav accused the government of failing to address the employment crisis, which is one of the biggest challenges for Bihar’s youth.
3. No Investments in Healthcare
Tejashwi Yadav criticized the lack of budget allocation for healthcare infrastructure in Bihar. The state struggles with inadequate hospitals, shortage of doctors, and lack of medical facilities in rural areas. With no major health initiatives announced in the Union Budget, he claimed that the people of Bihar continue to suffer due to poor healthcare services.
4. No Focus on Industrial Development
Bihar has huge potential for industrial growth, but the state lacks large-scale industries and manufacturing units. The opposition leader pointed out that the Union Budget 2025 did not include any major industrial projects or incentives for setting up factories in Bihar. This, he believes, is a major reason for the state’s economic backwardness.
5. No Plan to Stop Migration
Thousands of Biharis migrate to other states every year due to lack of employment and infrastructure. Tejashwi Yadav stated that there is no policy in place to curb migration or to create local opportunities for the workforce. He argued that without proper industrial development and job creation, Bihar’s youth will continue to leave their home state.
6. No Major Rail or Investment Projects
The railway network is crucial for Bihar, but the Union Budget 2025 failed to announce any major railway projects or investments for the state. Additionally, no big-ticket investment projects were unveiled, leaving Bihar without much-needed infrastructure development.
7. No Permanent Relief from Floods and Droughts
Bihar frequently faces natural disasters like floods and droughts, affecting millions of people every year. Tejashwi Yadav criticized the lack of special economic aid to tackle these disasters. He pointed out that there is no long-term plan to prevent or manage recurring calamities, leading to severe damage to agriculture and livelihoods.
Tejashwi Yadav’s Call for Change in Bihar
With the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections approaching, Tejashwi Yadav is positioning himself as a strong challenger to the ruling NDA government. By raising these seven key issues, he aims to mobilize public support and highlight the failures of the current administration.
He has repeatedly emphasized that Bihar needs a government that prioritizes real development rather than empty promises. His demand for special state status, employment generation, industrial growth, and disaster management aligns with the aspirations of Bihar’s people.
Bihar Politics Heats Up Ahead of Elections
The political landscape in Bihar is set to witness a fierce battle in 2025. With Tejashwi Yadav’s aggressive campaign, the NDA government will have to defend its record and respond to these allegations.
Meanwhile, the BJP-led NDA government claims that Bihar has benefited from Central schemes and projects. However, Tejashwi Yadav and the opposition argue that these initiatives are insufficient and fail to address the real concerns of the people.
As election campaigns pick up pace, it remains to be seen whether the NDA government will take corrective measures or if the public sentiment will swing towards the opposition.
Tejashwi Yadav’s criticism of the Union Budget 2025 reflects the growing discontent in Bihar over lack of development, job creation, and disaster management. By highlighting seven major failures, he has set the stage for a high-voltage political contest in the upcoming elections.
With Bihar’s youth, farmers, and working class looking for real change, the 2025 Assembly elections could be a turning point for the state. Whether the NDA government can retain its stronghold or if Bihar opts for a new leadership under Tejashwi Yadav, only time will tell.
For now, the battle for Bihar 2025 has officially begun!
