Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak Responds to Akhilesh Yadav’s Comments on Maha Kumbh Arrangements

Published on

KKN Gurugram Desk |  Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak took a subtle dig at Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav following Yadav’s remarks about the arrangements at the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. After Yadav took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, he emphasized the need for improved facilities for elderly pilgrims, a statement that prompted Pathak to defend the event’s organization while urging a focus on faith and unity.

Pathak’s Response: “Better Late Than Never”

In a statement to ANI, Pathak commented on Yadav’s visit to the sacred site, saying, “Better late than never. He witnessed the wave of faith today.” He praised the arrangements made for the Maha Kumbh and dismissed Yadav’s criticism, adding, “Sanatan Dharma is for everyone, and the arrangements here are excellent. He saw first-hand how people from across the world come together here in faith and devotion.”

Pathak also urged Yadav to refrain from making “unnecessary comments”, emphasizing the importance of the event as a unifying force rather than a political battlefield.

Akhilesh Yadav Highlights Need for Better Management

After performing 11 holy dips at the Triveni Sangam, Akhilesh Yadav addressed reporters, describing the Maha Kumbh as a symbol of faith and spirituality. He remarked, “This is a place of faith, not divisive or negative politics. The day I took a dip at Haridwar was a festival, and today I had the privilege of experiencing the same here.”

However, Yadav also criticized the event’s administration for inadequate arrangements for elderly pilgrims. He stated, “The event should not be treated like a sports competition. Older devotees are facing difficulties, and better management is necessary to ensure a seamless experience for all.”

Yadav’s comments sparked a conversation about how large-scale spiritual events like the Maha Kumbh can balance tradition, faith, and the logistical needs of millions of visitors.

Amit Shah’s Upcoming Visit to Prayagraj

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Prayagraj on Monday, adding to the significance of the Maha Kumbh 2025 preparations. Brajesh Pathak expressed excitement about Shah’s visit, stating, “We are excited to welcome Amit Shah ji, who has inspired the country’s youth and shown immense love for the people of Uttar Pradesh. On behalf of 25 crore people, I thank him.”

According to official reports, Shah will arrive in Prayagraj at 11:25 AM and will take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. His itinerary includes:

  • A visit to the Bade Hanuman Ji Temple
  • A stop at Abhayvat and Juna Akhara, where he will meet saints and share a meal with them
  • A visit to Guru Sharananand Ji’s Ashram
  • Meetings with prominent religious leaders, including Shankaracharyas from Sringeri, Puri, and Dwaraka

Shah’s participation underscores the importance of the Maha Kumbh not only as a religious event but also as a symbol of national pride and unity.
