Patna-Purnia Greenfield Expressway: A 245-KM Six-Lane Road to Reduce Travel Time to Just 3 Hours

KKN  Gurugram Desk |  Bihar is set to witness a major infrastructure boost as the Patna-Purnia Greenfield Expressway project moves forward. This six-lane expressway will span 245 kilometers, drastically reducing travel time between Patna and Purnia from 7-8 hours to just 3 hours.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has finalized the alignment of this expressway. It will feature 21 major bridges, 140 minor bridges, 9 railway overbridges (ROBs), and 21 interchanges, ensuring seamless and high-speed travel.

With the Bihar government approving the project, the expressway now awaits financial and administrative clearances. Following approval from the Financial Committee and the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the land acquisition process will begin.

The Patna-Purnia Expressway will start from NH-22 near Mirnagar Sarai in Hajipur and connect to NH-31 near Chand Bhati village in Purnia, passing through several key regions.
